_Lam 597
2012 was really a letdown for pop music. It all went downhill from there. Coincidentally, it fits with Gaga break from pop scene. And Gaga was heavily credited for the rise back of pop music in 2008. Pop music is getting manufactured in 2012 like it was in the early 2000. We need more competition and new trend in this genre. More producer diversity would be great too. Hopefully Gaga fix this back like she did with The Fame.

craig 680
It appears that all the hype around Ke$ha wasn't so much to begin with. If it were, she would have been #1 by this afternoon, when in reality she hasn't even broken the top 10 yet. I thought she had more fans... That's the difference between artists like Swift, Gaga, Britney. There's hype around them. That's why they're so successful. First 24 hours sales .. is about having a large fanbase on twitter who will buy your single on name only. Kesha only has 3.1 million followers ... Katy and Swift have over 20 million. As with Rihanna, people have to hear her new music a bit before they buy.

craig 680
We can't expect huge innovation in pop every year. Dance music and even Dr. Luke have a LONG was to go before they became as repetitive and stale as Post-Grunge Rock in the late 90's and early 00's with all the bands trying to sound like Nirvana with distorted guitars. Or for that matter, late 90's and early 00s R&B.

hausofmike 127
Ew why
craig 680
Why? Because Swift's debut single, while #8 on pop, is only #15 on country radio and losing airplay. http://kworb.net/radio/
