Gaga should play Rosemary Clooney

A concept: Gaga would be perfect in a short miniseries (maybe 5 or 6 episodes) about singer and actress Rosemary Clooney. For those of you who don't know who she is, Rosemary (who happens to be George Clooney's aunt ) was a singer and actress who rose to fame in the 1950s with a string of hits like "Come On-A My House", "Mambo Italiano", and "Botch-A-Me". For a time she was "America's Sweetheart" and the epitome of the "girl-next-door".

Unfortunately, her career took a major downturn in the 1960s. Her marriage to Puerto Rican actor Jose Ferrer (with whom she had 5 children) crumbled, and   she became romantically involved with her drummer and became addicted to sleeping pills and tranquilizers.

In 1968 she was at a campaign rally for her close friend Robert Kennedy (JFK's brother) when he was assassinated, and the incident triggered a severe psychotic breakdown. That July she walked off stage in the middle of a performance in Nevada, got in her car, and drove on the wrong side of the highway into oncoming traffic in an attempt to kill herself. She survived the incident, but was committed to a psychiatric ward afterwards. The legacy she had spent years building up was nearly destroyed.

She disappeared from the public eye for about 7 years, during which she underwent psychoanalytic therapy,  before her career experienced a comeback in the late 1970s, and she continued to sing and act until her death in 2002. 

I think the story of Rosemary's rise and fall and rise again would make for a really riveting miniseries, and Gaga would be perfect for it. Besides having the voice and the looks for the role, it would touch on themes of fame, addiction, and mental health, which are right up Gaga's alley.
