I have to agree with this but it has nothing to do with ARTPOP.

In retrospective ARTPOP is not a great album, it has its moments but it is very far from a consistent and polished record. Don't get me wrong, I love the album (it's the album that made me join this site) but if I have to be subjective, it's just not it. It's special for different reasons. 

On the other hand, attacking Charli because she hasn't heard the album doesn't make any sense. There are a lot of artists whose albums I haven't heard and I still think they are really talented.

Gurl True Romance was released before ARTPOP and u can already hear her distinctive style. Saying that without ARTPOP there would be no charli xcx is one of the biggest reaches I’ve heard on this forum.

Knew it would go this way. I'm not even hating on ARTPOP lol. It's her third best album and contains some of my favourites of hers. But, half of the stuff that you said isn't even true in any way. ARTPOP had no impact on Charli, or any singer for that matter. Even Joanne had more impact on music lol

Taylor Swift said she listened to ARTPOP a lot while recording 1989, but curiously not even mentioning it when she was promoting the album. Yet the only reason why people say ARTPOP  had no impact is because Gaga suffered a press blackout and the album was declared DOA at the time by the media. Nobody even mentioned her name, except of course to attack her. Hence nothing was written about ARTPOP’s legacy at the time. But in the years since, many publications have published reappraisals saying how wrong they were. ARTPOP literally keeps getting more and more significant, now that we have the gift of hindsight. The toxicity of Tumblr in 2013 won’t be remembered.

Not only that, many of the artists that are inspired by ARTPOP haven’t even begun their careers yet.
