KNJ 4,170
Some of you may have noticed already, but I just wanted to bring up the fact that Haus Labs has be leaving comments under reviewers videos on YT and various social media. These comments show respect, kindness and gratitude to those who were and were not at the launch. Some known and unknown, some with well over 100k subscribers, some with barely 2k. I think this is important to bring up bc 1) they're walking the walk. Company culture spreads from head down. It is reassuringly evident that this is Gagas company. She is built into the foundation. As she put it “My fingerprints are all over this. It's a crime scene.” 2) Its important to see the effects of kindness on others. These creators didn't expect for a company of Haus Labs profile to say boo! to them. But HL wasnt only there watching, but going out of their way, thanking and respecting and encouraging these future superstars. To feel seen , for who you are or the work you've put your precious time on this earth into, is one of the greatest feelings a human can have. Whether you realize it or not, it helps validate our existence and see our potential. It validates our hard work, when everyone said your wasting your time. It validates our belief in ourselves, when no one else has faith in you, including you. It validates being the one that sticks with it, when everyone else says your a fool to do so. Just wanted to put that out there. To remind this community, especially, of the life-changing power of kindness Spoiler Hope this makes sense "She's an intellectual, your honor"

Joshie S 6,210
Thanks for being so brave to spread Gaga's ultimate message of being kind amongst one of the most unfriendliest places on the internet. Let me give you some applause The melody that you choose can rescue you ♥

I don't think OP is calling it altruistic. She's simply saying that a big company acknowledging smaller individuals is a good thing—it can bring exposure, etc. If you leave aside the Amazon aspect (I know, I know) the company seems to be operating in a decent manner: reasonable prices, acknowledging MUA and customers, diverse advertising (race and gender), not bullying smaller companies (Alba's Honest has does that), etc. Fans were expecting the worse and it's been fine. *I know Amazon is problematic, but so is nearly every corporation (Target, Nike, and Disney are way worse, tbh, and so is Starbucks...which works with Gaga's own BTWF)...so that's a debate for another time. I will give Amazon this—that they pay workers $15 at a minimum..which many companies do not.

I already want to buy more, and things like this just confirm it's the right decision. I still haven't ordered the eyeliner, and it seems foolproof enough even for a novice like me. And I want Glam Attack in all the colors because it's such an awesome, versatile product. She/Her/Hers

Altruism and capitalism are not exclusive. No one is 100% altruistic nor 100% capitalist. Within our many multitudes, also lies a combination of these two things. HL, in its short existence, has shown to be an extension of Gagas altruistic spirit/nature. Spoiler I don't want to hash it out here, when this is not what this threads about, but the company is altruistically bent. Where others focus on more, more, more. HL/LG actively choosing to do the right thing by everyone. -They are conscientious enough to care to be vegan and cruelty free. Which is costing them bc the right way is usually the expensive route btw. -Yet the product is high quality and fairly priced. Meaning they didn't take advantage and lean into the brand name to pad the cost. -HL factories are in Germany, etc. Not China, Taiwan, etc. They did not choose to squeeze dollars from the manufacturing side by producing in countries with inhumane and abusive labor practices. -The Message - and if course, Amazon. They suck but honestly, try and start a business today without inadvertently using or needing a service parented by Amazon Inc. HL wants everyone everywhere to have access to the product -- Amazon has worked very hard to be the only game in town with that reach. HL is a startup who knows if they did it on their own, ****ing up the logistics of receiving demands and organizing supply, for a megastars' product launch could crash the site and ruin the companys rep before it even starts -- Amazon has the power to receive and ship 1000s of orders a day. What would you do? HL made a deal with the devil but honestly it's a storefront. If you have an issue, go to HL.com (where they, like many companies, big or small, likely rely on Amazon server power) and order there.
