Why should Gaga bother?

She has millions in the bank and a burgeoning acting career.  Much of her original pop fan base has turned into demanding, judgmental, inconsiderate people who have made her social media a toxic wasteland and think her kindness message is silly (while complaining that Gaga doesn’t interact with them anymore).  They will find reasons to hate on her new music anyway.

What motivation does she have to stay in the pop industry?  If she scanned your post history in GGD would she say “this person is why I do this” or “I don’t need this person in my life?”

if I was her I’d concentrate on acting and Broadway, do whatever singer/songwriter/jazz/rock music I wanted to do with no consideration of pop radio and on my timeline.

I’d basically tell pop fans “I’m done with this mess, thanks for the cash. I hope you follow my journey, but if not, I’m glad you enjoyed previous stuff. Bye. “

She has no reason at all to put up with the BS.

well yeah and she obviously isnt putting up with it. She never justifies herself or anything she lets all the gays suffer. and she does whatever she wants. I mean she did acting, she did jazz, she did makeup all of which was like "Nooooo"d at and she did it anyways. She isnt pulling a halsey (no offense). She's doing what she wants in the speed she wants to do it in.

You are making it sound like she quitted pop music which isn't true at all but I pretty much agree with the sentiment of your post.

Every fanbase evolves in time, some are content with the new material, others not so much, some of those end up quitting being a fan all together. It has always been like this and it happens with every artist, what is happening right now to Gaga isn't extreme or exceptional.

I think this is what she's been doing since C2C, isn't it? I agree that she has no reason to pander and kiss up to fans or radio, and I don't think she will. If LG6 happens to be more in line with what certain old school liddos want I think it will be a coincidence.

I do believe she still has a lot of genuine love for her fans. When she gets to actually meet real people and hear their stories, it clearly moves her very much. But she's certainly more than done with social  media degenerates.

Gaga's fanbase  was always made up of obnoxious judgemental gays, and still is. They only want pop/ disco/ house edm kind of music. (To be fair I'm one of them :huntyga:)

She doesn't have anything left to proof. Even if her next album doesn't do well chart-wise, she will still be a genius.

And as an artist, she needs to keep creating to 'feed her soul'.

Contrary to what a lot of people think, most of her pop fanbase that she has is not online bullying Sarah Tanno or bitching on GGD. To unfairly drop them out of spite for what people on Twitter are doing is unnecessary. Additionally, this idea that Gaga hates pop music is a weird lie that's only strengthened over time because of notions put on by fans. She still likes pop music, we see her enjoying it from time to time and she herself says she's still a pop artist at heart even when she explores various genres. Every single one of her mainstream solo albums are pop albums. Even the ASIB soundtrack is pop. I think she makes music because she genuinely likes it, and choose pop because it isn't restrained to one particular sound; pop by nature is able to borrow different flavors from different genres and grow and mold into whatever the artist wants to create.

I think her approach to ignoring unhealthy fans on Twitter and other forms of social media is not only justified, but necessary. I for one don't personally mind. I also think less and less artists care for what stans on twitter say anymore sans Ariana and some of the newer artists because their careers depend on young people conusmption.

That said, if she wants to quit the industry altogether she could and probably would if the hate continues and exemplifies. Her team does read what people say online and relay that info to her. She sees y'all's BS. If you want to know why she doesn't want to talk to you, that's why.

But yeah, theidea of being like FU because of online teens and young adults is kind of stupid imo. And as someone very heavily involved in the rock scene, they aren't much better. Just older and with a slightly better vernacular lol.

She stopped paying attention to us after 2013... she has told us many times from 2014 onwards she’s now free to do whatever she wants, so I hope she’s doing that.

I know what you are trying to say but I will give you the truth of why she is bothering:

- Contractually obligates to

- Has a VERY expensive lifestyle to pay for

-  Loves money

that’s the reasons, I know it’s not all fairy dust and ‘whatever she wants’ but it’s life.

She doesn't put up with it.  More like : file delete.

And most of her fans don't post.

Much less read the massive drivel generally associated with social media.

like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still. My words give a clue, look inside to see whats true

I don’t think Gaga ever released anything to please anyone but herself

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

Interesting. I get what you mean. But i think she needs to create... She needs to be on stage, singing , feeling the energy...I agree with the idea that pop has a wide range and that she enjoys it. And looking at her today, she is doing what she wants at her own pace. There's obviously probably contract obligations and plus the people that work with her and depend on her. About her fans, what i experience online it's at times  sad and a turn off, but i know a lot of people around me that would go to see her live without question. That think she is a great artist and don't spend a minute interacting in fan groups or sites, they are casual fans but they would spend money to see her live. So idk even if her music isn't what the radios want, or topping the charts, there's an audience for her anyway, and it's an interesting one that's willing to see her on a movie, singing jazz, singing pop, singing whatever. She's a great entertainer, she's great on a stage and people know it.
