Unpopular opinions on Gaga's songs

That makes sense. I wish she'd consider revising the lyrics a bit, because it distracts from her message. I also find the whole refrain of trying to include different races and sexualities to be a bit cringe-worthy because the lyrics feel more like they're just aiming for easy, forced rhyme. Oh well. I'll blame her co-writer Jeppe Breum Laursen [had to look up his name]. ;)

Another unpopular opinion of mine related to BTW is that I prefer the live version, especially the Jazz & Piano one, to what's on the album.

She won't replace the word Orient in BTW, tho. Most don't care about that sort of thing for a song that's nearly nine years old (time flies) and it would just bring unnecessary bad PR. It wouldn't be "Gaga changed it to have more sensitive lyrics" ...it would be dragging her for using the word Orient in the first place (even tho there are songs that probably use Orient from the same time period). Ha, I don't think you can "blame" anyone besides Interscope for not going "wait a minute"... since I think it was unintentional. I think it was just a combination of Orient being seen as a common descriptive term where Jeppe's from, and not insensitive and offensive, and Gaga just being ignorant of the negative connotations in the US.

Out of topic, but I wish in Diamond Heart she used those drums like in Joanne World Tour especially during the second verse. It's just so gooooooodddddddd~

Also, The Edge of Glory is amazing. I believe Rolling Stone ranked it as one of her ten best songs.

Fooled Me Again and Future Love would have been massive hits if they had been released.

I Wanna Be With You is good, although not as lyrically good as Dope. However, if she had released if after the Madonna/BTW deal she would have been dragged. Even though the song has nothing in common with Your Song except one similar line about writing a song for someone...and the use of  piano music....people would have taken the opportunity to call her a copy cat/thief again. People call artists "thieves" nowadays even when they officially sample (dumb aspect of stan culture/clickbait headlines).

She was barely 23 years old when the song was recorded ,it's not an excuse but.... really she probably didnt know better and shouldn't be dragged for that

1. TFM era was an omen of what was to come with the rollout of BTW and ARTPOP; it originally began as a way to make more money off The Fame through a re-release, and that it ended up as an 8-song EP of masterpieces only serves as evidence that the whole concept sucked the life out of one of the most amazing debut eras in pop music history.

2. With 100% focus on the vision of TF, 2009 could have slayed with a mix of iconic releases like JD, PF, Paparazzi, and Freakshow (on a true re-release) and 'filler' releases served to radio to feel out the GP response while serving to support the album theme visually; BDR accidentally helped in this aspect because, while it wasn't served to radio, the MV shows what TF's 'thesis' was. Picture a similar strategy for songs The Fame and Starstruck, released to radio for about a month or so, in between the smashes.

3. TFM deserved to be a full era with an LP released during a time when BR and other singles could have soared to #1 on the way to Grammy domination; this should have been her 'Breakaway' or 'Teenage Dream' era with Bad Romance, Reloaded, Alejandro, Speechless, DITD, Animal, and SHICD all being released.

4. Telephone was so out of place on TFM; I wish it had been saved for a Greatest Hits era before ARTPOP.

5. BTW era would have been so much better without the unneccessary addition of controversial religious references; replace Judas, Bloody Mary, Electric Chapel, and Black Jesus with Princess Die and other tracks from that timeframe and the overall quality wouldn't have dipped, and the era wouldn't read as attention-seeking.

6. Gaga should have chosen her battles, and having MTN lead BTW, with Scheisse replacing Judas in the lineup of singles would have been game-changing. Surely worth fighting for over the EOG video, for which we ended up with.... uh, an empty street.

7. ARTPOP had no direction or vision; it is my favorite album, but I can't imagine ANY songs beyond Applause from being served to the GP. How can Brooklyn Nights be in competition with MJH for a place on the SAME album? How does IWBWY become Dope? I am all for creating art for art's sake... but, this LP was never going anywhere. AURA AS A LEAD SINGLE?

8. ARTPOP wasted some of her best lyrics, choruses, and bridges; the chorus from Aura and Venus are gorgeous, the storytelling of Gypsy was brilliant, and the irony of the Applause and original DWUW lyrics are haunting.

Why?

I like to view her as someone like Lorde or Taylor.

I know she is still the driving force of her music, but the lyrics aren't even that great to require so much help.

Not all songs require that much help though. Like for instance, when Gaga wrote a little for TIHTY and Dianne wrote 95% of it, Gaga is still credited as a co-writer. Maybe that's the case. I know for a fact that Gaga came up with the idea of Shallow thoughts since Mark said she came up with the chorus from the start.

Yes I'm not doubting Gaga. In fact, I'm sure she writes 90% in most cases. But it still bugs me seeing all those names lol.

My unpopular opinions on gaga songs  are :-

-Always remember us this way is overrated on this site, it's a master piece but I'll never love again is better

-Diamond heart is overrated ,gagas vocals sounds like she's  next to shouting and i don't really like the melody.i think people on here only like it because it's the closest thing to a high tempo pop song on Joanne

-born this way( country road version ) is better than the actaul born this way song

-you and I is gagas best pop ballad

-Venus wouldn't have been a successful single .

What are your own  opinions and thoughts???

Hahahahahaha these are definitely unpopular opinions :laughga:
