I’ve never eaten meat in my entire life and it’s the same for my parents. So what does that mean? Not having some random vitamin stopped my dad from being a successful auditor? Or stopped my mom from being a psychology professor with a Doctorate degree? Lmao make it make sense!

Wow gurl, don’t laugh at things you don’t understand. You may not eat meat but I am assuming you do eat dairy (which also contains B12), in which case you are getting enough B12 and therefore are not sick. Being a vegetarian is ok but being a vegan is deadly. And no vitamin is “random”.

I sure am a ghost to the guys I've dated but otherwise I'm very much alive and healthy not just me but also my many vegan friends

If I'm not mistaken, b12 is found in animal products because it's usually fed to animals?

i don't have much idea on it though cause im one of those awful vegans that don't take supplements ngjffbbf

B12 is secreted by a type of microorganism that lives on our liver and the livers of other animals. The real deal is better and more efficient than synthetic B12. It’s like comparing breast milk with powdered baby milk. Of course the original source is better. Way better. I believe in eating less meat overall but NO meat whatsoever is dangerous.

Guurl... b12 is no joke.

If you were a meat eater before, you can have some b12 reserves in your body.

But eventually you can even get severe nerve damage or even worse.

if i were you, id go buy some b12 asap

thanks for the info! i was indeed a meat eater a decade ago but I'll ask my doctor for the best supplements for me :)

Supplements are basically factory produced synthetics with unknown side effects. Good luck with that sis. Avoiding meat is like avoiding the sun.

sweetcorn comes out whole

:toofunny:

Honey, it's only the outer cover of it that comes out whole. If you didn't know the inside of it isn't actual corn, you're in for a surprise...

You absolutely need meat to get vitamins like B12 which helps improve mood and helps the immune system, and Omega 3 which is essential for brain function...

I'm a vegetarian and I don't take supplements. Heck I don't even eat the healthiest. My B12 is always normal and my protein is even on the higher side for some reason. Fat including Omega 13 is normal. :lmao:

Please look up actual sources on what early humans ate. Meat was a delicacy and it's been proven through evolutionary biology, archeology, etc. Outdated "science" was often based on conjecture and even made up racial differences between people that were subsequently proven false. The whole "made for meat" is one of those things.

Look at your teeth sis. You have canines since we're omnivores but they're not enough to tear apart raw meat or flesh. Our primary biters are incisors much like a cow or rabbit's. Canines are secondary as they're smaller than incisors. We chew using molars, again something suitable more for plants. Compare your denture to a cat's and come back.

We are omnivores no doubt. We ate meat. But it was much more rare.

Check out what other primates eat. Apes including gorillas, chimpanzees (some of the closest to humans) and come back.

Climate change isn't new, and its certainly not something that just popped up of thin air. If the climate never changed, dinosaurs would still be roaming these lands and wooly mammoths would still be around - but they went extinct due to CLIMATE CHANGE.

The rate at which it is happening has increased due to us mistreating the earth and using things that are distructive to the earth like nuclear power or CFCs in aerosols. What we can do is SLOW DOWN the rate at which is happening, but we cant stop something that was bound to happen in the first place

Yes climate change happens naturally VERY SLOWLY but this is not natural climate change at all.

Nuclear power may be harmful to the environment but has no effect on climate change. In fact if we all used nuclear energy it would help combat climate change massively. The issue with nuclear energy is if the nuclear plants melt down and the waste they produce. It actually has been heavily discussed as a possible way of dealing with climate change though I personally feel it is not the way to go. What has been causing climate change is greenhouse gasses that we release from burning carbon in such things as coal and oil.

The issue with calling climate change natural is it gives people the impression there is nothing we can do that the earth is just going through a natural cycle. When in fact there is lots we can do. Switch to clean energy options, electric cars, planting trees to off set carbon emissions ect.

It's really okay not to know things I'd recommend doing more research. Have a good day :)

I agree with most of what you’re saying, but meat has been confirmed to cause heart disease.

The statistics on heart disease are heavily skewed to societies that live a “Western lifestyle”, that is diets high in processed meats (associated with fast food) but more importantly lead inactive lives largely devoid of daily exercise.

Societies in the Mediterrannean and Asia eat meat (especially fish, lamb and pork) yet they have very high live expectancies and low rates of heart disease.

So it’s the combination of processed meat with low exercise rather than meat alone that is the prime factor.

Good Grief...

For vegetarians looking to increase their vitamin B12 intake, there are a variety of options. Some good choices for B-12 include: yogurt, low-fat milk, fortified plant-based milk, cheese, eggs

For Vegans looking to increase their vitamin B12 intake, foods that can be fortified with vitamin B-12 include: fortified non-dairy milk, fortified breakfast cereals*,nutritional yeast**

*For instance, Malt-O-Meal High Fiber Bran Flakes offer up to 137% of the RDI for vitamin B12 in 3/4 cup (29 grams). The same serving of this cereal also packs 140% of the RDI for vitamin B6 and good amounts of vitamins A, C and E

**Two tablespoons (16 grams) of nutritional yeast contain up to 130% of the RDI for vitamin B12
