A Hybrid 11,049
Although not so popular, Miley’s songs have been consistently good. Lizzo and Lana too if you count them pop. No family’s safe when I sashay
T3ARS 4,132
Motivation just came. Jesus give it some time. It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences. - Audre Lorde

Never Be The Same was radio-driven and a peak of #6 after the megamash of Havana isn't too impressive. Senorita was a Camila song as much as it was a Shawn song. Her latest two songs didn't do the numbers Senorita did so it had much to do with her and Shawn as a duo rather than her power alone. Havana is simply a success she didn't replicate (yet). Candy Gaga 5,374
It's just bad pop songs that ain't catchy nor meaningful that's why it ain't sticking with GP who even loves Hip Hop so much right now so we need much better pop songs for them to like. Gaga revived Pop music with Poker Face and pop girls followed with hits like Single Ladies , S&M , Hold It Against Me among other great pop songs unless something as good as this comes pop music will always flop for now. FFXSoul91 1,098
The charts and the industry are catering to music that will make memes rather than anything of substance. There have been good albums this year, but very few of them have made any huge impact, especially in terms of singles. I’m not expecting Gaga to make much of an impact either, though I’m sure LG6 will be great.

Jose P 23,341
What pop needs is legendary icons. And I mean new ones. None of the new generation pop stars have anything unique or special going on, nothing stands out, nothing screams memorable, nothing that will be remembered in the years to come. Billie is the only artist doing something different and artistic from the new batch. Therein why pop is pretty much stale at this point. 2019 was a slight improvement over 2018 but compare it to 2009. Or the late 90s. Or the 80s. Pop needs new innovative and unique artists. Camilla, Puth, Shawn, Dua and tons others are just basic pop fun to listen to but that you’ll forget eventually. And even the GP is catching up to that. The OGs need to come back ASAP: Adele, Gaga, Britney, Rihanna, Beyoncé. Madonna came back and as usual the GP paid her dust but at least she did give us something masterful.
