That second verse and second chorus I really liked this. Thanks for sharing because I haven't seen it before.
Schwerk 7,243
I was there when she first played Dope for fans in Berlin at the listening party in club Berghain. Such an intense moment. I sounded like IWBWY, but to our suprise the words were different. It was hard for us to hear the lyrics with the song echoing through the almost empty giant warehouse. Gaga was on an empty stage, sitting down by herself, staring in the distance across the room, the next moment she broke down. She started sobbing, tears streaming down her face, it was heartbreaking to watch. Lacey and Tara ran to her, sat down and held her tightly as she cried. Phones and camera's were not allowed so she felt free to express her emotions and you could tell they were very raw. When I was in NYC for the Roseland shows the guy who's airbnb I was staying at, confessed he had recovered from drug addiction. I played him Dope and he was deeply moved. He had never seen Gaga live, wasn't a fan, but he then wanted to go with me to a show. He started looking for tickets and found some for us. That night at the venue the tickets turned out to be fake. It was so devestating and I felt so bad for him because he didn't have a lot of money and it was al wasted now. We sat next to the Roseland for a while, feeling defeated when 5 min before the show a man ran out and said: 'Who needs a ticket? I have a spare!' We said yes and the guy gave us the ticket for free without asking any questions, he was happy it was put to use. I then gave the ticket to the guy and said: Go in, have fun, I'll meet you out here after the show. But he insisted I would go and see the show. It was already starting and he was determined I'd go so eventually I did. As I stood on the balcony (it was a fancy AF ticket!) a few songs in I felt a tap on my shoulder. The guy was standing next to me. He was able to find another ticket and get in! It was so special! We walked down to GA and stood in the back. The people around us were very loud, talking and drinking. Then I said to him Your song is next. The people were very sweet and let us go a bit towards the piano where he stood crying as Gaga sang Dope. That song is so powerful. According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

I mean Dope is the opposite of MJH. It's supposed to sound like she's drunk/high and coming down from the excitement of the drug.

I was front row center as well I expected to cry when she came on stage but I didn't. It was sort of like seeing an old friend that I'd always known. I just thought to myself "hey it's you!" god I love her.

That second verse and second chorus Thanks for sharing this I’ve never seen it before! Dope lyrically is genius to me. Toast one last puff And two last regrets Three spirits and Twelve lonely steps Up heaven's stairway to gold Mine myself like coal A mountain of a soul Each day, I cry Oh, I feel so low from living high My heart would break without you Might not awake without you Been hurting low, from living high for so long I'm sorry, and I love you Sing with me, "Bell Bottom Blue" I'll keep searching for an answer cause I need you more than dope Literally chefs kiss! The reference to Eric Clapton’s song Bell Bottom Blues is my favorite! Here’s the chorus of that song for those who don’t know it: Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you? Do you want to hear me beg you to take me back? I'd gladly do it because I don't want to fade away. Give me one more day, please. I don't want to fade away. In your heart I want to stay. I wasn't front row for any of the shows, but I know that feeling of seeing her and making that connection. She does feel very familiar and comforting. How amazing your first Gaga show was such an intimate one. According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch
