In most US places, we tend to say something along the lines of "I don't know why they're driving like that, they're terrible." or "Oh, someone lost their wallet. Hope they find it." In both of those examples, it's singular. Only one person can drive, a wallet only belongs to one person. Spoiler Also don't mean to just quote you, I saw a lot of others with the same thought - I just don't feel like quoting 478 people

Sam Smith, at the biological chromosomal level, will always be male. We cannot, at least with our current science today, change this fact. However, someone's gender has no relation to their reproductive organs or biological sex chromosomes. Therefore, someone's gender does not have to align with what society constructs to be appropriate. In this case, society says that a person with male sex chromosomes must identify as a man. But a person's gender identity is in no way beholden to societal constructions. Therefore, Sam Smith can identify as non-binary without there being any biological implications. Also, they/them has been used singularly since, like, forever. This argument is categorically false and I will not entertain it for even a single second. Remember to only form an opinion on others based on their character and behavior, not their appearance, and not on any part of their sexual identity. Sorry, but no. It isnt has simple as that and Gaga doesnt own my mind or body. I dont need to bow to her will. We have free will and we can have our opinions. If she thinks that non binary people should be accepted it's her choice. I personally still find it nonsensical. You don't like to follow gender stereotypes, we get it but you dont need to come up with ridiculous stuff like using pronouns. Dress like half man half woman, It's okey but you won't be anything more than a travesty, a cross dressing human. It's just a cosmetic makeover. You are not trans. Trans people suffer for their identity and they do take real actions to be what they want to be. Non binary play with clothes and call it a day. Some people identify as gender non-binary, gender fluid, genderqueer, etc. and what that means is that their gender identity is not entirely male and not entirely female, instead it lands somewhere in the middle. These people often tend to use the pronouns “they/ them/ theirs” because they don’t identify as male or female, and this is how Sam Smith identifies. Some people get confused because someone looks male or looks female, so why wouldn’t they just use male or female pronouns? But gender identity is entirely separate from someone’s sex or how they look on the outside. I hope that’s an okay explanation! Thank you so much! I understand better now! And when you say my name, like white horses on the waves, I think it feels the same, as an ocean in my veins.

Really showing your true colors there, huh Your response was fine and understandable up till that point. Also, gender isn't just about dressing up. It's also about feeling. Just as trans people don't feel part of one body, nonbinary people don't feel like part of either body. That's up to you. Based on your responses and attitude toward this topic, it's obvious that you buy-in to the social constructions that are tied to your genitalia/chromosomes, so I don't think you dressing as what society deems to be woman-like would serve any productive purpose in your case. But regardless of your situation, this is a personal matter. Just like someone's sexual orientation is a personal matter. When it comes down to it, you or I have no place or forum to disagree with Sam Smith's decision in a way that will enact change. At a more moral level, there comes a point when people must let other people live life in the way that makes them feel happy, accepted, and understood. This is one of those times. Please do some research, sis. This is complex, but not impossible to understand.

Literally said everything I said lmao. He reinforced the concept of 2 sexes. Go learn about chromosomes and then come back to me. It seems like you don’t understand the concept of sex. You don’t seem to understand that there is male and female, and chromosomal anomalies of each. Doesn’t change the fact that they were supposed to develop into male or female. And yes it is rare, 1.7% of the population is super rare. Posting a screenshot of someone’s comment as evidence is laughable. I can send you a pdf of research studies or pictures of my human sexuality textbook if you actually want to read.
