Loved how the adapted some of the craziest stuff from the book and they did a good job at projecting the bizarre and cosmic horror. I absolutely hated the excessive comedy. The novel has some comic relief, but there’s no comedic dialogue or anything ruining the horror moments. This felt more like a horror/comedy adventure film. Missed the disturbing, unsettling, creepy horror of the novel. Almost everything that was supposed to be scary wasn’t because something funny had to happen, either funny dialogue or funny editing. The movie had a lot of dark stuff but didn’t even felt like it. A shame, cause they actually did a great job adapting most scenes and I liked the changes they made. The CGI was too much though. I think that they did the comedy because they know that now of days, with the kind of horror that is scaring people, they cant exactly live up to it with the content they were adapting. Showing homophobia in action & what the LGBT community has & still goes through isn’t homophobic. I’m glad they showed the crime & made people feel for them because it’s important to showcase that LGBT are the same as “normal” people. Some people are just too sensitive & I'm glad they didn’t hold back to make those people happy. But yeah, I really liked the movie. The first one had a great 80's atmosphere and fantastic young actors. This one had a more ambitious scope, two timelines to juggle, and it amped up the scares a bit, but it was also sloppier and not as emotionally involving. And while Pennywise shaking and running towards the camera never scared me, "Chapter Two" allowed Bill Skarsgard more opportunity to actually terrorize the characters rather than transforming so much. That scene speaks volumes about the times and it builds a background for why Richie's generation is more closeted than newer generations. It happens, still, in real life, and with how America is turning at the moment, its incredibly current. I live in the south, which parts of it are still incredibly conservative. I know there are people around me who believe gays should die and what not. However, when that scene happened, everyone in the theater was uncomfortable. You could feel it. So, Andy is apparently wanting to shoot a few more scenes and make an "ultimate cut," that combines the 2 full films, with deleted scenes and extra scenes he wasnt able to film at the time. The movie was scary and had a lot more scares than the first one but the ending..... That was the worst ending I have seen in a movie. Gurl they go through all that trauma just do that to penneywise. Those who’ve seen it know how they do that. For a horror movie that ending was playground sh*t. It was good, and appreciated how violent and hard to watch it was, like during the opening and stuff. But scares coming from those badly CGIed monsters and creatures wasn't scary at all Also the book is notorious for having that laughably bad mythology, but I wished they would have changed it or not explained it at all. And the Losers bullying Pennywise made me think of that Cock Destroyers video where they bully and insult a guy and I couldnt stop laughing Overall I liked it but thought it was way too uneven and they could have improved so many things who will love me when the night is over Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
