Summerboy is criminally underrated and I can’t stand it.

It is a solid pop track. It sounds so much like a Gwen song though.

This is a good song to drive out in the countryside, wind blowing in your air, and enjoying the beauty of summer and feeling like nothing can ruin your mood!:flutter:

THISSS :tony:

I was desperately looking for songs with this vibe, and I didn’t realize Gaga had one of the best

We still have the summer after all :lolly:

Now what we AREN'T going to do is disrespect boys boys boys. I won't tolerate any slander.

OT: I wouldn't be mad if she kept summer boy. :bon:

YES. Being able to release Summerboy after LoveGame would have been a smash- little glimpses into the 'human' side of the celebrity of Lady Gaga would have gone a long way during that time period when people were trying to decode her "antics" and assessing her talents. SB was innocent, catchy, stripped of the overproduction quality of TF, and just a generally good-feeling track that showed versatility and sensitivity.

I wish TF and original re-release concept had broken it into 2 eras -- 1 that could've let the Summerboy effortlessness have its day before the Paparazzi fame-craze took over. Sold as kind of 'the innocence of reconciling fame with personal affairs' transitioning into 'the addiction to clawing your way to the top at all costs' would have worked and let TFM still be 'the realization that fame has its costs.' JD, Pokerface, LG, Summerboy + TF (tweaked production), Starstruck, and Paparazzi. (I really wish she had more 'fame' themed track at the quality of Paparazzi)

It does indeed sound like a Gwen Stefani track, but what's the harm in that? Gwen herself rarely nailed her own best qualities, and The Sweet Escape was successful because it fulfilled its promise and allowed listeners to escape, fantasize about their own relatable experience, and walk away from it without any emotional baggage. Gaga is my girl, but damn, her stuff can get heavy and with Paparazzi on its way,Summerboy would have been a nice relief. And, while I care more about awards and charts than is necessary, I really think she deserves more GF Grammy awards; I can't help but wonder what might have pushed TF just a bit closer and versatility is definitely one thing that was missed. You have to admit that had she won AOTY for her debut album, it would have been awesome.

Came here to say the same thing. The first time I heard it, I though it was Gwen.

It is a catchy bop though!!

Agreed! Honestly, Gaga should have milked the hell out of The Fame era by releasing more singles (e.g. Boys Boys Boys, Summerboy, The Fame, etc.).
