Actually Jesus once said when asked by the people at the time was "Some men are meant to be with woman, some are meant to be with man." That's what he said. As for what the bible says, the famous line "Man shall not sleep with man" is a translation error, it's supposed to be "Man shall not sleep with boy" as in Pedophilia.

What you have against the church is not my business but going at Jesus for what a church believes in is just childish and a disgrace.

Each person’s jesus is their own and his is a bad one. No jesus is the true jesus, and I can get down with nice Jesuses but not bad jesuses.

The church he attends has nothing to do with the sentence on his post.

His jesus would condemn gays to an eternity of hellfire so actually it has everything to do with his post.

That’s because I’m talking about religion. :laughga:

It’s all a stretch, but my god people believe everything their church tells them and I have to deal with the consequences of that. So you’ll have to excuse me for hating when I’m told an antigay jesus “loves” me. :madge:

First off, let me just say that no one is forcing these things on you, you started this unnecessarily, not to be mean.

Second, there's not one bit of evidence Jesus hated gays, or POC. The people that say he hated gays are only lying based on a translation error or are just uncomfortable with gays themselves.

Also, I've been to church before, and used to go to it regularly, it's actually a very fulfilling thing to do and makes you feel good and not one time did anyone mention "gay" or how "being gay is a sin." Maybe I was just blessed in a very up to date community when I was younger that carried onto the church, but not once did I ever hear that being gay was not ok.

Anyway, I'm just realizing I'm writing a novel :flop:

So I'll cut it short, also none of this should be taken as anger, these are just me experiences and of course other churches are gonna have different views and some are VERY hateful to the LGBTQ+ community which I don't obviously agree with, but that's just a handful of them these days, infact most of the churches I pass by in my own city I live in now are putting rainbow flags in the front of the building for everyone to see

Anyway, don't take this too hard, peace

Taylucifer

tbh, he still kinda sounds immature and like the 18 year old he mentioned.

Sure, I feel bad for him but does this change how I view him as a person? No.

It’s hard to support a religion that has spread so much hate and caused so much discrimination. I agree with the OP.

A religion that has caused so much **** and has treated me like a freak deserves no respect from me. Whether Jesus really existed or not and what he actually preached I don’t know, but the religion in itself is just...the opposite of what they claim they support, which is love, equality and kindness (I have to laugh :ladyhaha:)

I know there are many loving Christians, and I do respect everyone’s beliefs. But I want no part of it, and I’ll admit it’s hard to take an argument seriously when god is brought up.

I go to a Catholic school, and we’ve had masses where the priest talks about the degeneracy of our generation, how countries are accepting and legalizing unnatural behavior and how gays are going to hell. It’s never been a pleasant experience going to Church. And I know it hasn’t been for lots of people, especially LGBT people.

EDIT: Also, you probably live in a progressive country. But majority of Christian countries are Latin American. And the views preached there are much more backwards, and honestly very much like the stuff the Bible explicitly says. You can blame translation errors, but then the Bible has tons of translation errors supporting lots of effed up ****.

I know and that's what sucks about it. Christianity has no right to treat people (LGBTs mostly) or threaten them into believing they're going to hell cause that's not at all God's intention and it's really screwed up. But there's still a glimmer happening, and Lutherans have already went this route, but Christianity is slowly becoming more accepting of same sex relationships. It's a slow process, but once we get the right people in charge that'll give very good orders, it might influence a LOT of people. Traditional Christianity is not wrong, people can think what they think, but it's not right. The future is what God's intention wanted since the beginning, before all this mess about the gays or just different people in general, to be equal, and understanding, we were all born this way.

MonsterofFame

Usually when I read something personal Bieber posts, it seems fake and like he's trying to have us see him a certain way. But this seems really genuine. Seems like he grew up and got better - good for him.

ImTired

What's up with this "be a man" s@#$, though?  How about just being a good, self actualized human being? That expression in general makes my skin crawl.
