Read my previous post, I was talking about how most artists don’t self-title an album until they’ve achieved artistic actualization

The only answer is The Fame Monster. Born This Way may be some of your preferences here, but The Fame Monster is the album that has defined her career and is thus far the only moment in which the whole Lady Gaga thing came together in one perfect storm. Her desire to marry pop commercialism, art, and bravery through boldness and honesty with her work to authentically impact popular culture in a large and important way. She did exactly that with The Fame Monster.

Im not trying to knock Born This Way though, it was an audible manifestation of her philanthropic side, but as far as career defining....i dont think it defined it. She wanted it to define it, she wanted it to be even bigger than TFM and have the message of BTW at the forefront which is commendable, but its TFM where her music AND her message truly impacted the world and it did so without needing to bash you over the head with blatant self empowerment messaging lol again, not knocking but just saying.....i think you guys vastly underrate the fact that The Fame Monster is about more than just surface level? Its really odd to me that all some of you get from it is frivolity just because shes not literally saying in the lyrics "love yourself, youre a good person, make the world better, etc". Sometimes you can get that across with your own power of delivery, which is what a lot of people felt in her first eras.

Born this way, it’s such a beautifully coherent body of work and an extremely well developed concept, with a powerful message. Also the music is most of her best work.

sometimes I still listen to scheiße and MTN and can’t believe songs have been created that are THAT good :cryga:

Well, I figure since yeah, its mom is pregnant with it … it’s an enigma because it could mean anything and will be born this way, and this (labor-intensive process of inescapable prenatal hype) is the fame (monster) … and yet, and still, the fundamental question remains: elgee six — girl — where do you think you’re goin’? Wherever it lands, though, it will be a stellar genesis dancing cheek to cheek with its illustrious sibling company … or something to that effect.

TL; DR: For the sake of all intents, purposes, and fairness, I felt it’s a necessary inclusion at this juncture in the anthology.

I went with TFM.

I personally love BTW, AP, J and ASIB just as much, but there’s something so perfect about all aspects of TFM, it screams magnum opus.

yet to come and I don't think it will be LG6 either. I have a feeling it will come in her 40s!

But her best album so far is TFM & ASIB imo.

All the dust paid to TFM :fail:

You really weren't around pre-2009 to see the drought inside the pop landscape, huh? Nothing original, nothing worthy, no spectacles, no aesthetics. TFM propelled Gaga into being able to create BTW which nonetheless as an album is a social statement & with her rise to fame she gave a reason to other lazy pop stars to fuel art into their own music style often imitating her.
