The production is a wash, the album art matches, it's Lorde doing Taylor Swift pop mixed in with some of her signature wit and lyricism granted but at the end of the day it's nothing I ever personally wanted. And to top it off it's not even at least as fun as some of t's more basic material with Jack. Like....pure heroine was a perfect debut album from start to finish. Because I do like Lorde, but melodrama is just so damn boring. Even going into it I knew it was not going to be pure heroine since she had hooked up with Jack antonoff. Like I had no emotional hangup about it. But so many people on pop forums act like it's one of the premiere pop works of the century and I truly just...bothered and bewildered.
