Also I couldnt attend the tour cause she went to like 3 countries or some ****. I also remember people saying the age range was quite diverse. + Taylor started in 2006 so if you add 12 years to fans who were 5 years old you get 17. even if they became a fan with speak now or fearless those fans are teens now.. sorry ... The Netflix show was phenomenal

Just because you didn't notice her work, doesn't mean everyone else didn't either. Why would a crowd be able to sing along to Vroom Vroom at a music festival (not even her own concert) if no one noticed her releases?
whore 11,447
Just now, Craig Barnes said: But how big is the 'PC' fandom? Not very... Charli's most well known song is probably Boom Clap which is not PC at all Her work with SOPHIE went unnoticed and personally sounds just sounds like noise... not into that genre at all You're right, it's not big, but one of her fan-favorites is "Taxi," an unreleased song that she always performs
LOVEDRUG 10,734
"I been busy thinking about boys, boys, boys" is literally the hook of a Charli song And she calls us juvenile?

xoxo Craig 55,649
2 minutes ago, Didymus said: Then why is she getting consistent professional acclaim and even more acclaim than her peers? Pitchfork is calling her the pop star of the future and you're saying she's not delivering? It's fine if you don't like her but don't make stuff up. Are you actually saying Katy makes better music, the eternally critically bashed pop star whose albums will be remembered as the worst of mainstream pop? (and I love Katy so don't come at me, but it's true and you know it) Charli is a gamble for investment because she doesn't necessarily make on trend radio friendly pop That's the simple reason. It doesn't have anything to do with quality... Do you think Gaga would've been promoted as hard as she was by Interscope if she debuted with Marry the Night or Shallow? Of course not. So I dunno. I just think you paint a very misguided picture of the music industry and of Charli. Nah. Gaga was a whole gamble because Just Dance is nothing like the songs on the radio at that time. The took a chance on her and they won. Also, Warner Bros. promoted Shallow as it was part of their movie With Charli, she had the potential after releasing Boom Clap... but done nothing with it. If she released a good solid piece of work, she would be a lot bigger than what she is But Katy had two solid albums where she was ontop of the world. They know she has potential to hit big when she wants. Also Witness flopping was due to the label pressuring Katy to release a record. Never Really Over is a very solid comeback song. And yes, of Charlis work with SOPHIE is anything to go by, Katy is streets ahead of her Yes thats true, if Charli made songs like Boom Clap then she would have success. As I said, Melodrama and every Beyonce album is highly praised. But are they actually good? Well thats subjective. Not everyone is gonna enjoy a praised piece of work. I study Music Business at college so I'm kind of versed on this stuff. The label is obviously not fully supportive of Charli, wether it be quality of music or talent it debatable. But Atlantic dont want to take the risk for some reason... she isn't a big artist regardless so her saying that she doesn't want to open anymore but tour is crazy to me. She would need to do a local tour first to build a fanbase, a strong one. And she would need to make songs that everyone can enjoy End Racism Now
Whispering 18,865
Not really sure who this is, but Taylor gave her an opportunity to perform in front of hundreds of thousands of possible fans. From what I’ve seen, Taylor does have younger fans, but she also has hundreds of thousands of fans that have been with her for over 15 years. Now, they are young adults. This artist should hope for a fan base that diverse and loyal.

Is Pauline down the road with 2 kids and is in her late 20s talking about her? Is Martin who is 18 and has a girlfriend talking about her? Probably not I dont see anyone talk about her except some pop stans. And thats the truth. A lot of people are talking about Iggy, or Rita Ora, or the people you mentioned more than Charli. A highly praised work is all good and that, but as I said, who is talking about her? Who is saying "ugh that new charli song is dope" EXCEPT from pop stans? JazzGa 14,621
I cannot BELIEVE how many of you so-called pop fans are acting like you've never heard of Charli XCX I'm definitely not a stan of hers, never bought or downloaded anything, but just from like... existing on the internet... I can easily list her biggest hits, Fancy feat. Iggy, I Love It, Vroom Vroom (literally just heard that in the club last week)... like, before you come in here commenting "Who" 100 times, how bout yall go outside every once in a while My old cat is a tough man, but i cant deny the way he bites my hand and he stabs me, he grabs me by my heart <
