Gaga should play Carole Lombard

I watched AHS: Hotel not long ago (never got around to it when it aired as I only sporadically watch AHS because it gets to be too much for me horror wise) and all I could think about during Gaga's flashback scenes was how much she reminded me of Barbara Stanwyck.

I would love for Gaga to do a 20's-40's era movie or series (my favourite time periods). It got me thinking of a book a read a few years back about Carole Lombard called "Carole Lombard and the Mystery of Flight 3". It's a biography of Carole Lombard but it also tells the story of the other people on TWA Flight 3, and the search for the flight following its crash. For those who are not familiar, Carole Lombard was a big movie actress in the 1930s and early 1940s. She married Clark Gable in 1939. In 1942 Carole died in a plane crash after she had been on the road selling war bonds. She was on her way back to LA when the plane crashed in Nevada killing all 22 people onboard.

The book alternates chapters between Carole's life and the flight taking off for Burbank, CA. Commercial flights were still new so it wasn't a non-stop flight but it had four stopovers after lifting from NYC. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TWA_Flight_3

Towards the end of the book the alternating chapters about the flight shifts to one of the first responders who rode his horse up the mountain to look for survivors. Even though I knew how it all ended it had me in tears hoping and praying for a different ending. The narrative was so powerful I had to take breaks from the book (I usually read it all in one go but this gave me so much anxiety. I just wanted them to be alive when he came up the mountain).

I would love to see this book as a mini-series. It is something I have wanted since I finished reading it. Today I was reminded of it for some reason and I just thought how I could see Gaga as Carole. I know none of it will ever happen but this book would be such a powerful mini.

Nice idea. I would love to see her in an era movie... The one I thought about is, With A Song In My Heart that starred Susan Hayward. It’s the true story of singer Jane Froman who had medical issues after being injured in a plane crash. Yet continued to entertain our troops.

Also, there is a real parallel because after she, Jane Froman retired, she spent her life helping people in the mental health field.

How about it Lady G????
