Harris Walz 2024 1,451
And conversely, not everyone is a Beyonce fan and should not made to feel as though they should be just because she is famous. Not being a Bey fan is not hatred. Let's just get that straight. Tired of these kinds of threads
LilyLark 10,104
I like Bey a lot, although I do get tired on occasion of the hive and the media going like "how dare someone breath near her." As far as the negativity...I think it's a combination of things—although I will say I see a lot of people on GGD defend Bey and that every negative thread is usually at least 1/2-3/4 full of people who like her or at best are ambivalent towards her. Twitter is more toxic, but again that goes for every fan base. A big part is the typical "stan competition." It's very common for stan groups to be petty and dislike other artists. Many stan groups have a "there can be only one" mentality. It's usually more common when an artist that they don't stan tends to be favored more then the GP and Bey is liked more than Gaga by more of the GP. There aren't many mainstream female artists who are generally more successful than Gaga: Taylor, Adele, and Beyonce are the only ones. Rihanna has more number ones, but her albums open around the same as Gaga and Gaga can outsing her (no shade, I love Rih but it's the truth) so Gaga fans let it go. Gaga fans often write off Taylor because Gaga can outsing Taylor easily (no shade again, I love Tay). Adele outsells everyone but very few people get "passionate" about her. So that leaves Beyonce, who outsells Gaga most of the time and has more critical acclaim for some her albums. I'd actually say they are about the same vocally, even though Bey's technical vocal abilities are a tiny bit stronger as you never hear her tired: both have around 3 1/2 octaves and can do various vocal tricks. But some fans look at her and see she has more critical acclaim for some of her albums, sells more than Gaga, that Beychella was seen by the GP as the best live concert in years, and has about the same vocal ability and get annoyed as they see it as her "beating" Gaga which is...dumb. It's not a competition and all of this is subjective, anyway, except sales numbers. For example, Frank Sinatra is often seen as one of the "best singers" along with Nina Simone—and yet they didn't have much range. There's also the thing that much of the media has put her up on this untouchable pedestal and whenever someone is put on an untouchable pedestal people get wrongly annoyed at the person—and not the media. And if you aren't from the US, the media adoration probably seems a bit odder as Bey doesn't sell overseas in many countries like Taylor, Rihanna, Gaga, etc. From a musical and dance point of view, there are definitely people think singers should always play at least one instrument well and if they don't they shouldn't be rated so high and that's a legitimate critique—I don't necessarily agree, but I see where they are coming from. And Bey's creative team pretty blatantly ripped of Rosas Danst Rosas back in the day, so if you are into dance I get why that would annoy people...especially as the choreographer was derided by some of the media and Bey's fans for being annoyed. The hive is most of it, though. People get annoyed because they tend to jump in people's mentions, even if Bey isn't mentioned at all, to go "hold up, Bey is better" and go after other artists more than any other stan group—ironically, many little monsters are starting to behave the same way. The hive was pretty bad around the ASIB era because Bey was originally in talks—they were all over saying Bey would have been nominated for an Oscar, this, and that. Much like the little monsters don't like when someone "beats" Gaga, as silly as it is, some of the hive doesn't like that Gaga "beat" Bey in acting ability/acclaim. Lastly, there is some obvious racism and misogyny because Bey is a Black woman. SO I wrote a book lol. TLDR: In terms of the negativity, much of it is just petty stan wars. Bey just happens to be in the media right now so she is the newest target. GGD also tends to be negative in general. Other things that contribute to some of the negativity: the Hive and members of the media who act like the Hive. Some people who are into dance and music who dislike those aspects of Bey's career. And of course there is some latent racism and misogyny by some posters and far more of it is on twitter.

Like she's this godess that can't do no wrong and will never have a flop ever. Part of that image also comes from her fandom that literally treat her like the second coming of Jesus This gets to the heart of why I don't feel strongly about Beyoncé. Great singer, great performer, but I gravitate to artists with more to vulnerability and accessibility .

They accuse every single artist of being an untalented failure, make up excuses for others successes and legitimately threaten people. I remember like a few months ago when some Bey fans literally reported the location of a gay refugee to his family to get him possibly murdered. And i don't even closely follow stan twitter wars. Say what you want about our fandom, I've never seen any of us do such f*cked up ****. Also people are kind of over Beyoncé's "untouchable" image. Like she's this godess that can't do no wrong and will never have a flop ever. KURUSHITOVSKA 20,451
Because we are done with her? She's praised for even having hair in her scalp and she does barely anything. She has a voice but does lipsynch, her dance routines are 20 years old, she steals other unknown people's work and doesn't even pay or recognize the work done by others, she buys writing credits when she doesn't write ****, she goes around like she is the goddess, the saviour of the world, after founding with her husband a company to try and destroy other streaming services and get even more and more money, that company that claims that an album is platinum after being gifted away by them because those copies were bought by Samsung (ANTi). She later sells an album by making up rumours about an unfaithful husband exclusively on that platform because Tidal was falling apart in numbers. An overpriced clothing brand made by slaves. She acts like an empowered woman and tries to expand that message of "I'm curvy and i'm black, I came from nothing" when she is more than privileged. She used the Black Lives Matter movement to sell an album and profit HERSELF when there were people dying out there, and after literally bleaching her skin for years to look whiter (compare pictures from 2003 to 2013). People treat her like she is the most perfect thing in the world and in the music industry, yet fails to sell a million in over a decade, when other artists are called flop by her fans, that flop that made Beyonce get her last worldwide hit (Telephone, 9 years ago, 9). The world doesn't need more full of themselves women that are too afraid to stand up for what they actually have to believe in. No feminism, no gay rights, no nothing, when she is one of the most powerful human beings in the world, the only changes she and her husband are willing to do only include more revenue for them. The Kim Kardashian of music. I adored her til I Am Sasha Fierce, then it all became what I explained there. Trash. I can say she is super talented, and beautiful, but that shouldn't make her untouchable. ¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?

KatieJudasGaga4 67,907
I don't hate her at all. I love IASF, however, since 4, I can't really get into her music. However, I don't get why people hate her so much. Gaga and Beyonce constantly praise and love each other and collaborated twice, so it doesn't make sense why this all started. They never said anything bad about each other.

Oh wow look at her looking so fabulous in that protest. Please make sure the papz get a great angle from her. Make sure that everyone knows that I'm here. I'm releasing an album in a couple of weeks and this is the best promo I can do, I won't even do interviews because i'm too good for that. Come on. I want to see her in front of the White House fighting against the racism that the current president is putting on the streets. ¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?
