This is false: most blacks live in the South so why would the Republicans appeal to “Southern racists” when these same states also have the most blacks? Unless you’re claiming that all Southern Republicans are racist?

Because they aren’t a voting majority...far from it. Republicans have also done everything they can do to make it harder for black people to vote.

For instance, black people make up just eight per cent of Kentucky and only around 15 per cent of Tennessee, Florida and Arkansas.

That’s why the Southern Strategy was formed and why it still works to this day.

I think you’re giving the Republicans way too much credit. I feel that the South doesn’t so much like the Republicans as much as they distrust the Democrats, whom they regard as traitors to their roots and agrarian way of life. It’s almost like they have no other alternative BUT the Republicans. My suspicion is that Trump would’ve won 2016 even as an independent. He is not like his predecessors, and even amongst Republicans he is somewhat despised. This is the two-party system and the illusion of choice. Party politics is a game of deception. I wish wish wish there was a Democrat leader who could pose a serious challenge to Trump. Sadly, there are none. They are so focused on him instead of us. And when I say us I mean the kind of person who loathes this mass consumption vision of adversarial soap opera politics.

You have no idea what you are talking about. The South will come out to vote Republican in Tornados or Snowstorms. They are an extremely reliable voting base. It is so obvious that you don’t live here and don’t understand the history and reality of living in the South, or the US.

You are not “us”. You are not “we”. You are ten thousand miles away, repeating bits and pieces you have pushed together from people online.

Wonder how Trump supporters are going to support this. This is extremely disturbing.

We'd like to take a moment to remind our readers that the psuedosexual adrenaline rush you get for fantasizing yourself a martyr for the right on a *Lady Gaga* forum is no substitute for self-love and pleasure.

Be (physically) generous with yourselves and seek virility supplements if needed.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled episode of "Alt-Right Destination GAGA."

New crime statistics released by the FBI place Baltimore's homicide rate last year well above that of any other large American metropolis.  Nearly 24% of Baltimore's population is living below the poverty line (that's on par with Tonga and Ghana).

His district is truly the worst in the US.

The President told ZERO lies once again.

He clearly meant rodents when it comes the 'infested' remarks, just stop, inb4 the Lakoff conceptual metaphor theory  :saladga:

baltimore has problems and puerto rico is full of corruption -- and when Trump tried to call out those things, he did it in a racist way that doesn't actually call out the real problem. Just blames a bunch of poor people of color. Everybody always missing the point on these things.

As someone who was born in the South, lived here all my life, and comes from a long Southern lineage on both sides of my family, it's so weird seeing someone who has never been here try to lecture people on what life is like here. :laughga:

I’m still a human. Capable of understanding love and hate. All my opinions are my own. And I choose to believe in the best in people. Which means I will call out moments of hypocrisy and unfairness when I see it because I believe that we are capable of better than that. And I don’t think Southern Republicans are as predictable as you think. I think pre-Trumpian politics was very colour-coded and predictable but Trump has been a game changer. Hell, the Democrats themselves are scrambling to find their very own pompous loudmouth! I guess imitation is the most sincerest form of flattery!

I'm not sure your whole point... The person before you said that the South will vote Republican. And that's going to be true before and after Trump... So not sure what exactly you are trying to say.

It’s just like Trump. When people are ignorant about stuff they often have more opinions not based on facts.

What I am saying is that Trump is going to destroy the Republican party :sis:

In a good way :sis:
