He came back for ARTPOP because of the pay check, so he doesn’t have the right to an opinion

I get where he is coming from and some of his frustrations (I remember he spoke about this a few years ago right?), however, he was hired to work on someone else's record so I'm not sure how much involvement he thought he was going to have? It's one thing if he & LG came up with a song together and it was their sole creation, but, I think most of his work was in collaboration with other producers.

This seems to be an issue with a lot of newer producers who transition to working with pop acts: they seem to want to have creative control over things or have a greater involvement in the collaboration process. It does not always work that way.

Kind of an extension of my other post, but I also think maybe when he first started working with her he thought she wasn't going to be involved in the process at all? I know some people (still) have this misconception about LG being like other pop singers and not being involved in her music even thought we all know that it's quite the opposite.

Oh no, the artist didn't let the producer control her. Must have been so hard for him at the studio.

But GGD told me she doesn't write her songs and only creates the illusion that she is involved. :oprah:

I actually like this. It shows that Gaga is in control of her albums production

As everybody else has said, wbk that Gaga is essentially the creative captain on her records, especially with BTW.

Sucks they couldn't accommodate his hotel and flight though sksksk

I mean that was the job he was hired to do. When it’s your record then you get to do what you want

Love Game was written after the instrumental was made.

If you hire a producer it is because you like their ideas, their instrumentals, their stems, their samplers etc.

Very sad he did not have the opportunity to express those ideas.

But, Gaga is Gaga, Fernando was a good producer because he and Gaga had similar ideas.

Well... she’s not your record label. She’s not paying you to create what you want, she’s paying you to produce a track for her. Get over it dude.

I'm not trying to be heartless, I'm really not, but he would have been paid for his work on the album. Sometimes when you're trying to make it in the industry you have to move to a new city and sleep on a friends couch or in a crappy motel and struggle and hustle to make it work.

Would it have been nice for Interscope to pay his flight and hotel, sure! But some jobs don't work that way, and he would have taken it knowing what it paid (and what it didn't). To still be complaining about it all these years later does make him look bitter imo.

Wait for what songs did they work together?

From Born This Way:

- Government Hooker (credited as a producer because they used his beat as a starting point)

From ARTPOP

- Sexxx Dreams (credited as a songwriter)

- Do What U Want (credited as a songwriter)

- Applause (credited as a songwriter)
