Imagine recording both Alejandro AND So Happy I Could Die the same night in your early 20's.

How do we know these things?

But I can’t imagine how she felt leaving the studio that night completely unaware of the record she was making and how huge she would become few months later...

I still find it amazing how she wrote a record like The Fame Monster with all the promo and touring she was doing. Or hell, even writing a better and more ambitious record like Born This Way during the grueling Monster Ball Tour. It's kind of insane.

I still think the Alejandro demo reigns supreme over the final version.

I've thought that for almost 10 years. It punches harder. The album version is hokey.

Out of curiosity I went through my things to see what I (also aged 23 at the time) was doing on July 24 2009.... I was meant to be taking the train to go visit my sister, but the rail service went on strike and I had to scramble and take a 12 hour bus ride instead :wtfga:

I'd say Gaga had the more successful day :selena:

I think they sound very similar, but the final version sounds fuller and deeper and the violin is less pronounced (and maybe re-recorded, it sounds different than in the demo).
