HoneyB 27,926
I think as human beings, we need to step back and consider: Is it really worth it to drag and degrade someone based on the musicians and music they like? Does it make sense to be so obsessed with a celebrity who chances are you will never meet? This whole “stan” culture has gone too far imo we defend our faves from random nobodies on the internet thinking we did something We use these arguments as a chance to lash out and be racist, misogynistic, homophobic, and many other vile things that we really don’t need rn don’t get me wrong it’s completely awesome to have someone to admire and look up to but, when do we draw the line? I’ve seen some nasty stuff on twitter before just because of a petty argument it’s not cute luv. We should uplift each other for enjoying different tastes and artistry not bash them or the artist. My point is, we should be kinder to one another and not take “stanning” so seriously it’s unhealthy and weird... what are your guy’s thoughts on this weird internet phenomenon? Spoiler As you can see, I’m a little pressed rn that my mother is FLOPPING right now but that’s besides the point 💋 𝕊𝕥𝕖𝕡 𝕐𝕒 ℂ𝕠𝕠𝕜𝕚𝕖𝕤 𝕌𝕡💋🍪

It’s also a soundtrack to a massively popular Disney movie, yet it flopped even with her name on it. I mean I honestly can’t believe this happened, like it’s BEYONCE you know what I mean. DeleteMyAccount 11,881
This type of behavior was around way before even Madonna was around. It's not new. Only feels like it because of Twitter and such. But yea, it's stupid.

Yeeeeeeaaaaah, but I think in this case the fact that it's Disney is actually hindering anything and everything that has to do with the movie, cuz with as many people being aware of it, a looooooooooot of people are (rightfully) frustrated with Disney continuing to remake their old classics for no good reason other than make money, and they are (rightfully) refusing to participate financially, and are encouraging others to do the same... I don't think I've ever seen as many tweets and posts of people saying they will not be paying for anything related to this movie on principle - people... are getting tired It's a joke! MonSwiftAnton 3,774
I agree with you. Many of us are not against Bey per say, but we are against her (awful, AWFUL) fans and therefore enjoy her under performance. Tell the other hives pls.

"We enjoy watching her flop but we're not against her" Idk how that works. I don't like a lot of gaga's fans but I'd never celebrate her flopping just to hurt them. Exactly, why be happy that someone isn't doing as well as normal just because some of their stans can be a-holes? Unless the artist is a complete a-hole (cough cough Adam Levine), cheering that on is just..meh. People need to take a step back from twitter—and on a petty fan pov I hope Gaga fans aren't pointing this out on social media because Gaga does not need to be made a target of the Beyhive. The hive will wrongly direct their anger at Gaga, just like little monsters wrongly directed their anger at Bey when some of the hive was dragging ASIB. I will say GGD is miles better than stan twitter and a good portion of people on here get tired of the constant negative threads (so many are even directed at Gaga)..... There is also this weird aspect where most of the time it's women who get pitted against one another (with exceptions like Drake and Pusha, etc.)—the media certainly feeds into this idea of competition but there is also this internalized misogyny by some stans who do this (not saying all the stans who do stan wars are misogynistic, but some are). I can't believe I'm about to quote Taylor, but she's right in there's enough room and artists all have crowns. But yeah, stan wars have gone from petty jokes to pure ugliness. As bad as the little monsters, beyhive, swift stans, ariana stans, etc. can be nothing can top the sheer cruelty of the whole barbz and cardi "stan wars" tho. The others just take pleasure in people "flopping" and make ugly comments at times (some crossing the line into bigotry and misogyny). Barbz and the Cardi stans (not all of them, tbf) literally want to see the other woman destroyed...it's like they've forgotten that Cardi and Nicki are living, breathing people and not these objects to "project" emotions on. The barbz cheering on/mocking Cardi's suicidal tweet was disgusting
