Didymus 34,379 Posted July 24, 2019 Share Posted July 24, 2019 It's long overdue tbh I mean... she's known in the business as the "songwriter" of the bunch and lately she has more writing credits than some of her peers When I saw Miley had only one co-writer for Younger Now (which is not a good album but hear me out lol) I felt a little embarrassed. Gaga can obviously do it. It's a rare occurance in the first place, the only people I can think of off the top of my heads are Marina, and a handful of rock stars. I totally agree. At the end of the day, very very few songs from her repertoire are entirely her own, yet one of her fans' biggest arguments is how she writes all of her songs (which, by the way, isn't necessarily better, but that's another topic). I don't think she has the guts I don't think she is capable of many things, and releasing something that's completely written by her with no other input is beyond her. Again, at the end of the day, she's not that creatively free. Would a self written project be good, would I be here for it? I don't know. Just Another Day is my favourite Joanne song, and I also love You and I and Speechless, so I'd probably enjoy it. On the other hand, she's no Joni Mitchell. I could see her creating a Hounds of Love! I used to think Gaga was more like Kate Bush or Tori Amos than a regular pop star.
