Forget has the laziest chorus, "Forget eh eh eh et For geh eh eh eh et Forge eh eh eh et" and she sings it so sleepily. Theres like no emotion in that song. Not to mention it just sounds like a b-side from The Family Jewels sans all the quirkiness that made that album interesting. Blue is infectious and builds on itself and has dimensions. Its not just flat like Gold or Forget.

You need to get your ears checked. Theres clearly something wrong with your hearing.

Girl I could say the same thing about you

Weeds just feels so tuneless. She said there were other tracks and I wonder what made her pick that over what was left on the cutting room floor

If the color beige were music it would be Weeds.

Radioactive is one of her best pop songs imo and her best video.

Lol hell no. It's the most generic thing she has ever done. :smh:

Are You Satisfied, IANAR, Obsessions, Oh No!, Numb, Bubblegum Bitch, Primadonna, Lies, HTBAH >>>

I can't stand Radioactive at all. The production sucks, her vocals aren't pleasant on it, etc.

We all have different opinions though. Not trying to bash. Radioactive is just a no from me.

You mentioned in another post that you think people dismiss Blue as top 40 fodder but that is what I dismiss Radioactive as. It's so bland and soulless.

Lies lyrically is right on point for me but the production is sooooooo 2011/2012 dubstep-y b/s. Im just not into it. How To Be A Heartbreaker is so much more generic than Radioactive and dumb. I like Primadonna, Bubblegum Bitch is stupid but its a guilty pleasure, unpopular opinion but I don't like The Family Jewels for the most part. Straight up. Are You Satisfied, Hollywood, and Numb are good though. And I enjoy the penguin prison remix of IANAR but the original gets on my nerves (not because it isnt good but its just not my taste).

And to me Radioactive is her doing dance/pop but in a way thats full of life. Everything about it is euphoric from her vocal delivery to the production and the way the song builds on itself.

Radioactive is catchy, yes. But it's the most bland, generic song on Electra Heart, along with HTBAH imo. #sorrynotsorry

But wait, add Teen Idle to that list and replace HTBAH with Starring Role and I'll agree entirely :P

 how could you say such a thing:cryga:

The production on that song is one that totally defines "The Family Jewels."

I find it annoying. It reminds me of that 2008/2009 era light indie-pop **** that every gay guy that was anti-top 40 would get into because it made them seem alternative (i.e. Bird + the bee, Au Revoir Simone, etc). Its not a bad song, I can see why people like it, I just have my own personal annoyances with how it sounds lol

From The Family Jewels I only listen to and love those songs I posted. The rest is just not good to my tastes. I find How To Be A Heartbreaker to be full of life and Radioactive to be dead. I think it's really interesting how different people's opinions can be. Hollywood gets on my nerves, I think it's just the way it is sung and not actually the song itself.

Well my favorite song is still Lonely Hearts Club

Idk how that wasn't included in the american tracklist for the record. She should've taken out Hypocrates imo.

Both Living Dead and Lonely Hearts Club deserved a place. And Buy the Stars actually. I don't like How to Be a Heartbreaker but I can acknowledge why its on there.

Obsessions is mine.

I've known about Marina since the Electra Heart era, but I didn't become a real fan until Froot came out and I rediscovered Obsessions and it really clicked with me.

Starring Role I connect with lyrically, especially at the moment. But the production overall to me just makes it sort of bland. Its like quasi-generic but kind of boring at the same time. It sounds dreary.

So its odd to me that many fans tend to criticize her more "generic" or accessible songs and favor ones that are far more drab and lifeless solely because they can't easily be categorized as Top 40 b/s. They're all lyrically on par with one another for the most part, why prefer something just because it doesn't sound typical even if its not as good?

THEN AGAIN, one of my favorite tracks off Electra Heart is Fear and Loathing and I can see people saying that song is dull.

I became a fan after I hear Primadonna and fell in love when I heard Mowgli's Road. Still among my top 10 fav songs of all time :flutter:
