it's not rude imo. to say that its disappointing that you can't attend Enigma due to its high price point and location is one thing and is a completely fair comment. But to trash the show based on videos from mobile phones and a tiny amount of professional footage is unfair.

Like I said. All I have is a video. I’m sure Gaga just sitting there and you being able to experience it live would be the best day of your life BUT compared to videos from her previous tours - it is disappointing. And I don’t see why it’s unfair to judge it that way. I wasn’t at the 2009 VMAs and I know it’s one of her best performances. ALSO I wasn’t talking about Enigma in particular- I was talking about every other televised performance since SB.

We have no evidence of that. Her struggle wasn't just physical (although that was a big part of it). It was also mental.

The ARTPOP backlash wasn’t even that bad. It got more resistance than her previous records, but she never became the most hated person on the planet like Madonna did. The Erotica backlash was enormous, as it was because of the Sex book, which came out at a very reactionary time in American/world society (I’d still say it wouldn’t be accepted today). But in spite of it all, Madonna remained steadfast in her goals. She remained faithful to her brand and artistic identity, and she continued to be provocative even after people were screaming at her to shut up. She never had to rebrand herself and she never abandoned what made her a great artist. Gaga didn’t have to either, but she chose to do it anyway to appeal to the general public. If Madonna could continue to evolve and grow while remaining with her signature style after an extremely severe backlash from the entire planet, then so could Gaga. And now Gaga’s artistic growth is stunted because she abandoned what made her a great artist and what made people fall in love with her. Whenever she tries to be “Lady Gaga” again, it feels wooden and unnatural because she’s out of practice and she doesn’t love being Lady Gaga The Electronic Pop Artist anymore. Stefani has prevailed. While The Fame and her younger sisters may have won many of the battles, Red & Blue won the war.

Anyways, if ARTPOP broke her, then she would have killed herself if she experienced an Erotica-level backlash.

I agree with some others here. Haus Labs is clearly not trying to promote "beauty" conventionally. Of course that still opens the question: but then why a make-up line at all since there are so many out there already that don't necessarily focus on conventional beauty standards? I still have no answer to that question :messga: It makes sense in the bubble of Haus Labs, sure, but when you think about all the other things she could've injected a message of self-empowerment in, make-up would not rank highly on the list :rip:

A clothing line wouldve been much more in line with her history, her legacy, and her message. A clothing line opens much more possibilities for empowerment and "defining your beauty" than a make-up line that well, its just make-up with cool palettes.
