Anybody else miss ‘09-2012 Gaga?

When you knew an album was going to be a lot sooner than “SOON” and her controversy was ripe? I miss her “out there” outfits and videos, the music was more risqué and she didn’t give a f*** what people thought of her.

If you can’t move on from an artists past projects, you aren’t a real fan. PERIODT!

OP is just saying that they miss the good old times, not saying they don't like her or anything. Let's be honest, she was far more daring, fun, enigmatic and iconic back in the day, which is not a bad thing because Gaga is always evolving so who knows, maybe we'll get even better eras in the future.

Good times, yes. Every time she stepped outside a building we had something exciting to talk about :nick: It was great to see her so devoted to one artistic purpose. I get that had to come to an end (though I don't agree that that supposedly means she can't release higher quality work anymore but that's anther conversation) but yeah, I'm super happy I experienced her at her prime

I feel like only people who never really cared that much about Gaga's early career can say that and believe themselves :rip: Great for you if you wanna support Gaga in whatever direction, but a lot of fans were drawn into her career because of specific styles, messages, releases,... it's not so easy for everyone to just snap their fingers and accept that something that was important or superior to them is over. But that doesn't mean they can't "move on" from those things :messga: It just opens up the possibility of comparing new things with older ones.

wtf? yall are always so annoying and try to clock anyone just for a few reactions lmfao the op was just saying they miss a phase of gagas career and in no part they said they dont like her anymore. show me where they said they cant move on from her past projects? its absolutely fine to be nostalgic about an era and that doesnt make you less of a fan. :madge:

I mean yeah, she was everywhere. You can’t spend a day without hearing the name ‘Lady Gaga’ at least once. Every celebrity was asked what/how they feel about her. She was the centre of attention. She truly was the Queen of Pop during that period. Even though Beyoncé is heavily considered the Queen of the Music Industry, I don’t think she ever was at the level of what Gaga was in 2009-2012. Good old days.

Does it matter? Damage is done

i think what i miss is the music....she was pure pop then....like imagine if joanne had been a pop album up to par with the fame monster....the imagery would suddenly seem better

Not really because I like her more now, even thought she doesn't do the things that she used to do more often (maybe it's for the better because if you keep doing the same stuff more and more its getting tiring) at the core she's pretty much the same person but she feels more real to me as an artist/person and it's inspiring the way she decides to do projects like ASIB and be super successful with it. You can't really say much about her music because Gaga has been always changing her style

I gotta feeling the old Lady Gaga was just a gimmick for her to break into the scene and it worked, she's the only one that could pull it off. She's still the same person, hardworking, passionate and talented.

But I do miss her old music, The Fame Monster and Born This Way are untouchable.

Genuinely curious, why do you like her better now?

She's obviously way less active, less entertaining and less creative. Less dedicated to her work (which yeah is probably better for her health). Her looks aren't as good and she serves them way less frequently.

But beyond that she seems way less genuine and "authentic" in her interviews (she genuinely seemed lobotomised during ASIB interviews). All of her communications with fans is just promo. I can't think if any reasons why anyone would like her more now?
