Shaney 5,515 Posted June 28, 2019 Share Posted June 28, 2019 Kamala Harris performed so well last night, but she's got some issues that she is going to get called out on sooner or later. Bernie did a great job, but I was personally disappointed because I expected a lot. I've seen him take the gloves off and really come after his opponents, and he didn't do that tonight until he called out Biden for his Iraq vote. I think it’s too early for Bernie to pull out the aggressive debate tactics he used in 2016. It’s all about timing. I think he did just barely enough in the debate to coast through (maybe a small poll bump) until later debates with fewer people so he has more time articulate his points. Meanwhile, everybody dunked on Biden (including Kamala) & he & Kamala will be the primary beneficiaries from it. But if Kamala and Warren both pull ahead of him in the polls by next debate, he will almost surely have to go with a no holds barred approach. However, since you are cutting admin costs and removing the profit motive from providing a human right to citizens, the increase in Public taxes are less than the decrease in private taxes. While correct, it means job displacement, but that’s also why there is a 4 year transitional period and why Bernie advocates for free college tuition and a federal jobs program through investing in infrastructure. And either way, If government can afford spending tax dollars on imperialist interventions in Latin America and across the globe and to give tax breaks to the rich (which is called a subsidy), then the government can afford to provide healthcare to the people of this country.
