But just as a tidbit, just because a group of people doesn't face legal discrimination anymore, doesn't mean their oppression is over. Homophobia (and in extension misogyny and transphobia) is still deeply engraved into even the most liberal countries. Queer people, especially growing up, often face a lot of stereotyping, bullying and exclusion. And a lot of very serious other issues, such as queer homelessness, mental health, suicides and conversion therapy are barely even discussed. We have still made tremendous progress, but it's important to stay aware of issues still happening A lot of these discussions about oppression go much deeper than what lies on the surface. Please recognize that people have gone through different things and just because you perceive something of not being a big deal, doesn't mean it isn't to others. homophobia only exists when straight people show it. gays cant be homophobic y'all. unless if they're calling out gays for being hypocritical. those are the biggest self-hating trump-supporting gay supremacists ever. all other ***s are gifts from god, right? I have said many insensitive things without realizing it and I would've loved for someone to explain me clearly and logically why it can be an issue. Take care Hello Darlings, I hope you can have the time to watch this video and realize how saying something like this can be pretty problematic and triggering for people, ( I know this as I'm one of people triggered lol). I feel like watching this 45 minute video although time consuming will help you perfectly understand the issues with this and hopefully prevent you from saying anything like it in the future. Also its a great and really entertaining watch hahah. If you don't have time or if still after watching you don't understand feel free to send me a DM and we can talk about it!! Take care! Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.

I don't quite get what you're trying to get at, but gay people can absolutely be homophobic. How many times have you seen the "masc" gays shame and ridicule femme guys for existing and blaming them for the homophobia the community receives from straight people? How many time have you seen guys say that they're gay, but not "one of those gays". The sad reality is that many gay people, especially in more conservative areas suffer from a **** ton of internalized self-hatred. Ignorance is rampant in gay culture. It's not just him coming out, it's a chronicle of the endless homophobic abuse he has suffered from growing up that lead up to a suicide attempt. Lots of the events that are described are shockingly similar to how my own coming out story basically came about and I almost feel like it's quite good representation of how exactly homophobic abuse in the "developed & progressive" Europe, supposed bastion of gay rights, manifests itself. "Gay" casually being a slang synonym for "sh*t", homophobic parents, getting publically called out on your sexuality, having rocks being thrown at you, getting beat up in locker rooms, people threatening to kill you, teachers not caring, putting it off as "dumb jokes" or even joining in on harrassing you and no one standing up for you is still pretty much the unchanged reality of growing up gay in a European country that legalized same-sex marriage.
