Cis means "male or female gender matching what you were assigned at birth." It comes from the same "cis" root word as the chemistry term, which stands for an "unchanged" molecule (vs. a "trans" molecule, whose atoms have moved into an alternative configuration, but are still the same molecule.) Non-binary gender refers to anyone who is neither male nor female. The "binary" are the two (bi) endpoints of the gender spectrum, male and female, and most people go toward one or the other. People who are "non binary" don't go to either point. Can anyone explain? non binary people are individuals that don't fit into the binary gender roles of male and female. It's an umbrella term for anyone that doesn't see themself as distinctly male or female. There are more descriptive terms for more individualized experiences with gender within the non-binary "world", such as gender-fluid, agender, etc. cis refers to people who identify with the gender they were assigned at birth. So someone who for example is biologically male and also identifies with the role of a man. So cis people are everyone who is not trans or non-binary. Hope that helps

They're different. A bisexual guy's gender is... guy. His sexuality is bi. Does that make sense? Tbh because the idea of sexuality and gender can be conflicting you could define your gender as gay or lesbian. Non-binary is neither Male nor Female yet gay would mean Male and Male so it is conflicting but that's just because linguistically we have no word (yet). Although overall I don't think it really matters in a societal context? The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

People might say they are gender queer or gender fluid (their gender expression fluctuates), agender (they don't identify as male or female ever. Think "a"sexual, phonetically) some call it bigender If they feel like both, etc. There's a lot of terms thrown around. Gay is a sexuality. You can be cis or trans and be gay. A trans man who likes men could identify as gay. A trans man who likes women could be straight. A lot of these cases people might refer to their sexuality as "queer" instead of gay or straight or whatever, cuz again, sexuality is almost put into socially constructed boxes like the gender binary and they might reject that rigidity too. An example of a non-binary person I know is my friend Buddy. He was born male, and goes by male pronouns. However, he wears dresses and heels, and has long lavender blonde hair, and wears feminine makeup. So he doesn't really fit in to the male or female boxes. Buddy happens to be straight. He dates women. But who he dates doesn't affect his gender. Buddy's old school and actually doesn't like to use the new lingo like "non binary" and formerly identified as a "cross dresser" or "transvestite", but these terms are out of style now and some consider them too offensive to identify with or use to describe yourself. Just shows you that there are an unlimited number of ways to express your gender! It's not something definitive What is exactly what society defines? I mean. We're animals there are only two genders on this kingdom. The only thing what society defines is the name, male-female in English, macho-hembra Spanish etc. Anything else is fictional. Unless you are a plant but... hey! they're also male-female at the same time. Hermafroditisme. You don't have to debunk the nature/biology rules just because you can accept your gender, just because you can't accept you born that way. But you can call yourself wherever you want, But still what you really are.
