Yes I know hate speech laws exist like in dictatorship countries like where im from. But countries like America, they dont believe in "hate speech" laws.

What are you even talking about? :what:

The laws for hate speech (in Germany) are pretty striked and depending on how bad it is you have to pay thousands of € or get imprisoned for  2 - 5 years

And don't even try to say that germany is in a dictatorship

Germany is not a dictatorship country but it does have some dictatorship laws just like America and all countries. One of these laws in my opinion are hate speech laws.

Im originally from Riyadh but I live in Jeddah.

Its hard to explain how Gay life is here because whats normal to me is completely different to someone from America.

Obviously there is no freedom but I am Gay and I live a "normal" Gay life without fear as long as you dont publicly do something or advocate for Gay rights. But people know who is Gay and who is not its kinda normal. We dont have these scary laws against Gays like the media claim we have, its mostly none practiced laws.  I think the biggest issue is parents and society view on homosexuality more than government.

Of course, Carlos Maza is going to play the gay card when he's simply insufferable.

If he is "simply insufferable" then why can't Steven Crowder just say that? Or even better, Just ignore him  No he has to mention him being gay all the time. So don't come with that weak argument of playing the gay card.

My God your hypocricy really has no limits  :madge:

I dont know how to feel about this but I support the first amendment and free speech so I also support it to be practiced on youtube. Much worst things exist like actual KKK and and white nationalist with big supporters yet they care about Crowder? Even David Duke still has a channel and twitter!

America does not throw people in a hole to starve for supporting free speech, maybe you should com elive in my country and we should switch places, im sure it will suit you here.

Supporting free speech is not the same as supporting racism. If I support prostitutes rights to practice sex work, does this mean I support sex work? no it means I support freedom.

Freedom of speech doesn't mean that you're absolved of all consequences. I don't understand why people bring up the first amendment in situations like this.

YouTube is a private company and it's allowed to set its own rules and regulations. If they determine that something is hate speech  then they can delete/remove it on their own accord. It's also not like YouTube is solely based in America; YouTube is all over the world.

Also, saying "much worst things exist" is sort of pessimistic. Sure, objectively there are worse things out there, but that doesn't mean that you can completely brush aside what's happening here. What's happening here is still wrong. He's being bullied and attacked for his sexuality and ethnicity. No one should have to be bullied like that.

I agree there should be bad consequences to people like that to regulate people behaviors but I dont think a company like Google should do that. Google is not a private company, its a monopoly. Also, I did not say youtube should not do it by law, I just gave my personal opinion that I was not sure of and I said its complicated yet people freaked out on me!

Who cares to be honest. People are homophobic and silencing them will only make them angrier and more prone to attacks. It's the aad reality we live in and I'd much rather have these videos be online and KNOW that these people exist and I'm unsafe, than live in a fantasy and think all is well when these people are still ignorant and striving.

Well YouTube can still create its own rules and regulations. It's also a global company, so I'm not sure if the first amendement would apply nonetheless.

I'm not freaking out on you, I thought I responded in a calm and civil way. I'm not too sure what else happened in this thread since I only read a couple of the replies before I saw yours, but don't put that on me.

Frankly, I don't think the situation is complicated though. Someone said some offensive stuff in regards to another person's sexuality and ethcnitiy, and he should get consequences for it. Simple.
