HausOfMark 4,291
1. Lets not blame all straight people. Im straight and I think this parade is stupid and unnecessary. 2. Lets not blame the whole state of MA for this, for a couple peoples decision. -Mark

LGMonster95 13,704
I'm straight myself and this is f*cking idiotic. "Oh Let's have a pride of our own for literally no reasons just to piss the LGBT people off" If they were celebrating heterosexuality It'll have been all good but this is CLEARLY something shady. They are just a couple of attention seekers who have nothing better to do than to be jealous because other people have things while they don't have nothing. Also just saying, y'all should not put all the straight people in the same box because we're definitelly not all the same. There's always going to be a couple of putred people out there.... imnotyourbabe10 6,120
Where have the progressives gone wrong in sending the messages about privilege? Or do you guys think this is a normal reaction to the heteronormative power being threatened? It's just sad we've made such progress and yet those that have all the privilege (when educated about it if they have been) react so strongly -- and strangely! Mister G 10,512
I read about this last night. Pretty comical that these bozos would resort to this type of behavior. Am I surprised? No. Not really. See, the problem is that guys like this feel threatened when groups of people who have been marginalized for decades start to gain a form of recognition and place in society. They don’t want other groups to have power or a place for that matter, so they resort to these childish antics in hopes that it will tip the scales of balance back in their favor. Most of my straight friends were disgusted at the idea behind this supposed “Straight Pride.” Let’s be real; their sense of “pride” gets celebrated everyday. You can’t walk down the street and openly kiss your partner (same sex couples or even interracial) without the fear of someone giving you some sideways look like “eww wtf are they doing?” This is just a reaction out of desperation because a lot of the archaic ways of thought they represent are dying out; this is some last ditch effort to try and hold onto a dying set of thoughts and ideas that the majority of people have no interest in preserving. Ziggy 14,038
And they call *us* the snowflakes. Str8 people do this s*** every time there’s a celebration of a specific minority (not even straight person, I know I know). The biggest babies, wanting every party, every celebration, every event to be “welcome” to them aka neutral/hetero enough that they can take it over and make themselves the center of it. And these are the people who are seriously at a loss as to why a girl might not want to date them. Maybs it’s because you’re a petulant child, oi. andreas85 400
Here in Finland I've seen a couple of so-called "straight pride" parades and it's obvious that they have nothing to do with being proud of your sexuality. They are basically just white supremacist & ultra-nationalist marches. Those actual pride marches are also meant for heterosexuals because they are about tolerance in general. I feel like the cultural shift in the 00s/10s brought about not only Trump's presidency but all the ridiculous causes like this that the majority white/straight culture is associated with bc its all pushback from all the perceivedly threatening messages of feminism, LGBTQ+ rights, black lives matter, etc. It's like the rubber band was stretching further to the left that these people are desperate to get back to the culture before these movements gained heavy traction, so the rubberband is snapped back in the total opposite direction. But, that rubberband left a mark and ultimately progression is the only way to go.
