I guess my point is that there is no collective "LGBT people" - we are *all* different, gay or straight. Some gay people are very different to socially progressive gay people, and some gay people have totally different lives to the 'woke' part of our community. But that's totally fine, and these people shouldn't automatically be unable to vote Trump on the basis of their sexuality, you know? Political freedom is needed - as is education, in order to exercise that freedom fairly. And I agree that there is room for more education, but certainly not in the authoritative form of 'If you're gay and vote Trump, you're a 'bad' gay'. I support your point. I just think it's important to remember that a gay person doesn't = a progressive person. The thing with this it’s more than that it’s also like subtlety coaxing those who are easily influenced that this administration is for LGBT community when they’ve show no evidence of being an ally. I wish an actual organisation would make “MAKE AMERICA GAY AGAIN” hats where the profits are donated to LGBT causes (if there isn’t already - I’ve seen the hats but not so much donations). They're for it now, so what's the big deal? The bottom line is that now they support it. Also, this is different from Trump in the sense that Trump is the one currently in office. You can talk about how Hillary and Obama were once against gay marriage, but they are not actively pushing for anti-LGBTQ policies right now.
