I Actually Think LG6 Will Have Multiple Number One Hits

I was discussing this with my three straight roommates who have never cared for Lady Gaga...like ever. And they said even they noticed how big Gaga has blown up to be.

She had a non-radio supported, acoustic, slow grow song from a movie soundtrack that had already peaked 6 months previously go number one and dethrone the biggest hyped pop girl (Ari) in the game and the biggest hyped song of the year at the time (7 rings).

Before A Star is Born, Gaga's streaming power (her monthly average listeners) on Spotify had never peaked higher than 13.6 Million monthly listeners putting her Spotify peak at 181st in the World. By March 2019, Gaga has tripled her streaming power at around 39.8 Million monthly listeners and shot herself up to the #12 most streamed artist in the world among the likes of Post Malone, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Kendrick Lamar, and Shawn Mendes.

Now......I completely understand Gaga's profile as charting was seen as "waning" up until recently. But even in her "bad charting years" (2014-2017) when she had no streaming prominence or radio visibility and was releasing non radio friendly jazz and country singles, her songs still charted alot better than some of her contemporaries who have also been recently seen as "chart-wise waning" (Katy Perry, Kesha, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Charli XCX, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Carly Rae Jepsen).

...flashforward to 2019......

Gaga has triple and potentially could stand to get quadruple her previous streaming power.

Her profile is seen as "more on top of her game" right now.

If the music is radio friendly at all...she is going to have the radio support.

Her profile right now is arguably the biggest and most respected it has ever been.

Numbers do not lie....and artists usually seen at least initial great success coming off a good era...which clearly the film gave Gaga another really great commercial and critical era.

I think this kind of puts Gaga in a much better position right now to really garner 2 or 3 Billboard Hot 100 Number Ones.

Of course, promotion and timing will be really important...but I definitely think Gaga is in a really great position to have the hits again. And it kind of seems the climate overall is beginning to swing back to pop hits again and away from the trap.

What do you think?

Not that I wouldn't love to see lady gaga back on top of the charts, but even in the music times of domination of downloads, she struggled to get number one songs and never had 2 number one singles in one Era exept the fame.

I'm sure she will have multiple top 10 songs, if we're lucky multiple top 5 songs. And for that we'll be grateful

Everything you said is true, but I do feel like she needs to be extremely cautious and lucky to be able to get three #1s.

Musicians nowadays usually focus on one or a few singles out of a few, so that it becomes the staple of that era.

Million Reasons for Joanne, Delicate and Look What You Made Me Do in favour over End Game and ...Ready For It?, Praying for Rainbow.

Every artist understands the significance of one huge hit, instead of like three moderate hits, it's why Ava Max is still trying to make Sweet But Psycho her Just Dance, rather than focusing on So Am I.

I really wish Gaga will take the Born This Way approach and give every single a shot.

As much as I would love it, I doubt it tbh. We’d be super lucky if she got a couple top 5’s

Yah but wasnt that mostly all timing issues?

I read an article on time and it literally showed how if her team had been more careful and less careless....like there are 5 more songs that would have gone #1 as well if they had just been released a week differently. :saladga: I think they were Paparazzi, Bad Romance, Telephone, The Edge of Glory, and Applause (bc of a leak).

I mean, half of Gaga's "#3" and "#6" type hits sold better and were on the radio longer than a **** ton of #1s in the early 2010s.

Depends on what kind of Music she will be doing.. if she goes back to being Gaga then she might have a number 1 first single and a number 1 ballad single.

I mean the timing for Shallow could not have been more perfect. And because her team actually took advantage of striking while hot....she secured Shallow as a #1 hit.

Her team has been notorious for completely ignoring great promotional moments. If she had released The Cure literally at her Superbowl...it would have gone #1. Instead she waited a few weeks and although the song got hundreds of millions of streams...it was spread out without any radio deal.

Realistcally I think we are looking at one #1. 2 if we're pushing it but still possible. If only the Rihanna duet was real.. :laughga:

I think it will be very successful but I don’t care if her singles top the chart. I’m fine with multiple top 10’s

BBH100 #1's are driven by teenager trends and I just don't see Gaga capturing mostly THAT audience during her next release. I think we'll see Dance #1's, Pop #1's, Adult Contemporary #1's, iTunes #1s, and maybe a Radio Songs #1 if we're lucky but it took the perfect storm of media hype to get her that Hot 100 #1 and I don't think there's a huge chance of that happening again.
