Gaga with a 2019 MV Budget

This kinda just popped into my head so maybe I could start a discussion for anyone whos interested :sis:

Gaga's best videos were made in 2008-2011. Bad Romance, Poker Face, Alejandro, Judas, Born This Way... however the age and budget kinda show. If you look at the music videos of modern pop girls, the cinematography and special effects are much better, and that's just what happens as technology progresses - Gaga's videos in 2008-2011 were really good for the technology available at the time, ill admit, but the effects are getting more dated every year.

Just look at today's pop artist music videos - No Tears Left To Cry, Look What You Made Me Do, Me!, 365, Kill This Love, etc. Obviously the special effects are much better than what Gaga could do in 2011 (looking at Born This Way MV), but do you think Gaga will step up to today's standards in her next comeback single? Obviously she isn't gonna have a KPOP budget but she is still a main pop girl worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Her recent videos have been toned down to fit the eras, and in my opinion we havent really seen "high budget Gaga" yet. (GUY was the closest, but that was 2013). Gaga's videos in the past were impressive for their time, and she definitely created something special with limited technology, but I want to see her attempt something Born This Way level conceptual with the actual budget to back it up.

(Born This Way is definitely an example of technology failing to meet her vision. The intro manifesto is pretty dope, but the actual dance scenes are really low budget and her dancing in a black room... imagine the serve if she released a Born This Way level video in 2019 :nooo:)

I think Gaga definitely has shown potential for a high budget epic video - her Enigma anime promo was pretty cool - but I just want to see a music video where she pulls out ALL THE STOPS. Like some video game chaos angel goodfaith.world realness :nooo::nooo:

Imagine thinking break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored MV is better than Poker Face or Bad Romance MV because it looks more 'high budget'.

Can't relate. Bad Romance remains unbothered :ohwell:

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

I really want her to work togheter with one of the directors of BLACKPINK's songs  Imagine the visuals we would get

If LG6 really is Gaga going back to EDM/Dance, I actually see it happening

a dream, a literal dream

This. Bad Romance is timeless and untouchable,  same with poker face. You can have a big budget but there’s some things that can’t be bought, like creativity and taste.

Gaga doesn’t need to make her music videos to have all these visual effects, John Wayne was a good video that didn’t have LWYMMD, NTLTC type of budget and I really can’t see Gaga doing that either.

She just needs to come up with good ideas.

Not everything has to be flashy or high budget. G. U. Y is Gaga's most expensive video but tbh that doesn't mean anything. Gaga's always mixed low budget, more raw visuals with bombastic pop video creations. The videos you mentioned clearly lack the edge Gaga always pulls.

I do think the Born This Way video was meant to be like that. Nick Knight isn't know for his special effects since he isn't a pop videoist. In retrospect, the scenes of Gaga dancing in front of a black backgrounds, with gigantic horns and a shockingly underweight body, with just a bra, a panty  and slime is pretty iconic

Imagine if the 'Chaos' theme is implemented... the visuals would be iconic.

Gaga in a storm, dress and hair flying around her, dancers being swept away.

The poker face video is obviously made in the year it was made in imo...but the Alejandro video could have beenmade yesterday

Makes me think of the part in the Judas mv where she’s standing on a rock with all the water around her

Exactly, also look at this vid:

Also Nick Knight’s doing, doesn’t look that high budget but it looks amazing
