But the music that made the world fall in love with her was her debut One of The Boys which had multiple smashes :'( I really want her to deliver a mire "organic" sounding pop record like OOTB :'(

I like Teenage Dream though

YES! I want her acoustic, Alanis Morissette inspired sound!

Thinking Of You continues to remain unbothered as her best song

exactly the sound I think she should go for! She always mentions Alanis as a HUGE inspo for her so why not channel that. I think I'm bored of her sugar sweet confection pop songs. They are good but I want her to go a little more acoustic. She is a great guitar player and sounds fantastic singing those types of songs

I'm here for it.

I hope this continues and that other world famous pop artists wouldn't pay dust to the genre of music that made them relevant :ohwell:

This Gaga shade...

It's basically Artrave+BTW aesthetics done with less budget. I get the whole avatar storyline thing is new, but her looks, the choreography, etc, it's nothing new, it's rehashing her "Weirdga" past and the entire show has EVERYTHING to do with her previous work. It was designed to showcase her hits and be the Gaga the GP remember from her heyday.

That's because it was a show that's anchored on her back catalogue. WTH is confusing about that?

I can tell certain fanbases are shaking at the thought of Katy's Teenage Dream domination coming back because they are very well aware their favous would be no match for her :teehee:

There isn't going to be a need to seek for movie roles, famous jazz singers and Superbowl performances. Like the case was with Teenage Dream, the quality of the music is going to prevail :D

Sis why are you on a Gaga site when you clearly aren't a Gaga fan? And yeah, I can tell between LM throwing shades and straight up non fans. If people were doing this on twitter, whatever I get "fighting" even though I think stan wars are dumb AF, but this is a semi-private site so to wander on here out of the blue to pick a fight is dumb...and even more dumb when most of the comments are neutral/positive.

By the way  I want Katy to do well— I'm here for rebirth of bubblegum pop. But you realize by trashing Gaga you're just going to get people to start trashing Katy and a cycle will appear? You probably don't care..sigh lol. And here I'll be a hypocrite...but if you're going to talk about quality go look at metacritic.

I'm here for it. I'm tired of of what some music critic once called "narcotic pop" aka slow, low pop.  So much is generic nowadays or sounds the same....some upbeat pop would be a welcome change. Also, I had the opposite impression that she was encouraged to do a more Witness like album because that was the "new sound" at the time....not that she necessarily was tired of upbeat pop.

No one wants bubblegum pop in 2019... that’s why Sweet But Psycho has taken so long to crack the top 10 in the US.

Plus she’s hardly a threat to anyone, 365 tanked hard beyond belief along with her previous few singles

How did you just blatantly contradict yourself in your very next sentence? Ghosts aren’t the reason SBP went top 10 in the US, and #1 in the UK. There’s obv an audience for it.

True... but Sweet But Psycho is still like a one of a kind on the charts rn

She has the right attitude, but instead of looking 8 years back, let's look years 19~  back instead.

Early late 90s, early  2000s pop is the ****, and it's a HUGE potential trend that no one has gone back to yet.
