There were other surprises in this elections: for example, Green parties had a great victory and are becoming a major force. I'm glad to see the whole Europe giving such importance to these ecological ideas. This is really good. And most green parties are Not Euroskeptics. Plus, you should really understand that France's situation nowadays is tricky. Riots almost every week, a lot of hate towards the president Macron, this is quite expected. Yes! Let’s fight fascism with flowers and peace signs!!!!

And we can thank the UK big times for this... The Union had to become more political in order to create a political and social convergence. It would have avoided social dumping, tax heavens and immigration issues in Italy. Unfortunatelly it didn't. Now populist parties just using the EU as a scapegoat for every issues possible and somehow people are falling for it...

The fact that all these extreme right wing politicians are quick to spot evil everywhere while they are the neonazis themselves. The same thing happened in Belgium yesterday. Nothing to do with the French government whatsoever lol. My family was expat in Germany for 2 years MAX. They got their job in another country outside of the EU and they were transferred temporarily to Germany to work for 2 years. Yes, everything was paid by the company + they had a salary. But it had nothing to do with the government lol. If it's not what he meant, well, I don't get it. I really doubt the French government is that generous with anyone at all. pooiota

I really doubt any government anywhere is that generous with anyone at all The user made it seem like they were talking about the government, which would be completely incorrect anyway. And if they were talking about expats then that makes it even worse. A borderline dangerous way of thinking if you ask me...

Othon 34,299
Neoliberalism facilitates fascism. Trump wasn't an isolated incident: it's happening all over the world. Everyone is vaguely aware of the corporate oligarchy pushing for endless austerity from the center and if there isn't a real, robust leftist party pushing for international solidarity and liberation for workers, people will run to the radical right for easy answers rooted in scapegoating immigrants and blatant nationalism. That's what happened here.

Left extremists are no different than communists... I did not say he was right wing, He is a neoliberal and not liberal in the american sense of the word but the original meaning. I mean he was a banker before France always had high taxes and had powerful unions and they have tradition of striking. He did tax reforms and tax cuts in favor of the rich and put an extra fuel tax on the working class thats why they are protesting https://www.ft.com/content/d9957d20-681d-11e9-9adc-98bf1d35a056 https://www.ft.com/content/728cc752-1e7e-11e9-b126-46fc3ad87c65 Banned 04/19/2020 - 04/19/2020

A party can evolve, let's not give that priviledge just to left wing parties Colourful
