Oh come on. I think even Taylor expected everyone’s reaction to be the way it turned out. They wrote the song that way on purpose and she has done that for like 3 lead singles in a row. I’m pretty sure the next single will be a Blank Space or something even bigger but better.

Would you think the same if Gaga came out with this song? Would you praise Gaga for incorporating any of those lyrics in her songs?

I really believe she would be dragged. Or if Rihanna or Beyonce or anyone like that released Me! it would be dragged to the pits of hell. And I think that shows the song is simply getting a pass because of Taylor not because it's a decent song.

Well, I think it’s hard to judge what it would be like if another artist sang it, because different artists can pull off different kinds of songs. Taylor does a great job of pulling off those silly, lighthearted songs. Gaga probably couldn’t release a song like ME!, but I don’t think Taylor could release a song like Aura or Venus. The same way Gaga or Taylor never could have released a song like 7/11 or Sorry by Beyoncé. Taylor also probably couldn’t release a song like Work by Rihanna. So in a way I agree, people are liking the song because it’s Taylor, but I think that’s just because Taylor is the kind of artist who can do a great job pulling off that kind of lighthearted song.

I think there's no need to deny someone the right to an opinion. Just because Taylor's your fave doesn't mean she has to be everyone else's too. Music is put out into the public so we can decide what's good or not. You can't just tell people not to feel what they want to feel, that goes against the whole point of the subjective art of music. I'm sure you don't feel like your opinion should be denied when you dislike a song, right? If we had no sense of standards, there would literally be no point in having charts at all and you clearly enjoy Taylor's chart success and like to remind people of her achievements, so you must be for the idea of charts. Therefore, you have to accept difference of opinion as liking the chart system goes hand in hand with that. So, either support the right to difference of opinion and enjoy Taylor's chart success or insist that people think what you want to think and be anti-chart. Because you can't take pick and choose.
