britney-spears-with-her-parents-during-b

Britney Spears has joined the social media movement to free her from her conservatorship, and she told the judge as much Friday when she was in court.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ, Britney has done an about-face, now telling the judge her father, Jamie Spears, committed her to a mental health facility a month ago against her will and also forced her to take drugs. We're also told Lynne Spears' lawyer echoed the allegation.

TMZ broke the story, Britney spent 30 days at an L.A. mental health facility after she began rapidly going downhill ... she stopped taking the drugs that kept her stable after they stopped working and doctors still have been unable to find the right combination.

As we reported, Jamie Spears does not have the power under the conservatorship to either commit Britney against her will or to ply her with drugs against her will. A mental health facility that accepted an adult patient against that patient's will when the conservator did not have such power would be committing a crime.

Britney wants more freedom and asked the judge for certain adjustments ... but didn't get them. Sources tell us Britney would like to end the conservatorship, which has been operating for 11-plus years.

The judge took no action and has ordered an expert to evaluate Britney and until that happens there will be no change in the conservatorship ... but it has clearly created a family war.

They are driving her crazy. Just leave the woman alone, no conservatorship, no mental health, facility, no sh*t
She needs freedom and happiness, but they still keep her imprisoned and drugged :saladga:

When we're not together tell me everything's gonna be alright

Why does no one seem to appreciate how dangerous it is to be a severely mentally ill person with unlimited money and power? (I'm saying it's dangerous for the mentally ill person, if their illness gives them poor impulse control and comorbid addiction/reckless behavior issues...)

There is a reason they granted the conservatorship in the first place. She was headed for death just ten years ago.

They need to give Britney more freedom but give some control to someone (government?) who cannot possibly benefit financially from their decisions about Britney. If Brit is having serious instability again, it doesn't seem like the right time to simply let her run free, because then she will just end up in a conservatorship for longer...

if she's so ill why the hell has she done a successful 4 year vegas residency, why has she gone on multiple world tours, why is she promoting albums/vegas across the world, why is she doing interviews.

the woman is not even allowed to drive her own car without a bodyguard either in the car with her or following her, she's not allowed a phone, she can't even hire her own god damn lawyer. she gets an allowance from her father on what she can spend, but yet she's done thousands of meet and greets since the conservatorship.

she is clearly capable of handling her own personal life and finances if she can do all those other things and make so much money for those handling her.

team b is trying to paint that she is unstable just so they can keep her in the conservatorship to make them money. she looked so happy and into domination just a few months ago and then it was suddenly cancelled and she was shipped off to a mental health facility. a co-conservator requested a huge raise last year which was accepted and suddenly early this year he quits, that is extremely strange.

many people have mental illnesses and that does not mean they should be in a conservatorship.

And saying that someone is mentally ill, even severely mentally unstable, does not mean that they are incapable of doing anything or even super difficult things. It doesn't mean they stop being talented or able to function in basic ways, including a demanding job. Are you trying to say that all the manic depressive artists who let the industry destroy them (exploitative managers and labels, drugs, family) weren't really mentally ill?

Also, y'all are upset she can't drive after how many times she's been seen driving intoxicated and with babies in her lap and hit and runs and sh*t.:ohwell: Come on. You can't bring out the big boogeyman of mental illness to change the fact that she continually put public safety at risk when she got behind the wheel. I do agree, though, that the conservatorship or any other arrangement should change so that Britney feels in control of things like her transportation.

And like I said, someone needs to step in that can't be swayed by the monetary/career aspects of the situation. Britney probably needs someone encouraging her to take time off right now.

EDIT: I love Britney, but I just feel like she needs more and better support from professionals, not less.

you clearly have not kept up with what is going on how shady her team actually is, if this was Gaga you would not be saying 'keep her in a conservatorship'.

you're saying to keep her in a conservatorship even though she can carry out a demanding job? :saladga:

Conservatorship is a legal term referring to the legal responsibilities of a conservator over the affairs of a person who has been deemed gravely disabled by the court and unable to meet his or her basic needs of food, clothing, and shelter. Conservatorships are generally put in place for severely mentally ill individuals who are gravely disabled, elderly individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease who lack mental capacity, or individuals with developmental disabilities who may or may not lack mental capacity.

you honestly believe after reading the above britney fits into that category? SERIOUSLY?

In relation to 'she's been seen driving intoxicated' - stfu she's never had a DUI or anything like that :saladga: in relation to the baby on the lap that was a common thing that happened in Louisiana and Britney admitted it was wrong. In regards to the 'hit and run', how the hell was she going to avoid paps who hounded her, it is their fault for surrounding her cars so she couldn't possibly escape them. look at the below ofcourse accidents are bound to happen in situations like this:

THIS was her life on a daily basis

how dare you even justify she is not even allowed to have basic human rights and should remain in a conservatorship.

Please get out of this thread.

lmao, I love how you hype certain parts of my post but completely disregard everything else I said. Makes it pretty easy to toot your own earnest little horn, huh?

I repeatedly said the current conservatorship seemed wrong and there needs to be some new arrangement that gives her more control but keeps a check on certain things we know she needs help with from her past struggles.

I agree she doesn't fit into that definition you gave. Please stop cherry-picking what you respond to in order to queen over this thread, because there's other queens here sweety.

i've ignored things? yet you've ignored the fact that britney hired a lawyer in 2008, however Jamie then filed a restraining order against that lawyer because the lawyer stated something corrupt and not right was going on - there are court documents to support this.

she's been in a conservatorship for eleven years, there is no reason why it should continue honestly. britney is not the only one to have mental health issues, yet just because she's rich she's locked into a conservatorship. her dad gets paid to be a conservator, he also requested a portion of all the profits britney earns. her own mother was not even provided with details of what is going on with britney.

just because people have had struggles in the past does not mean they can't overcome them and i don't think just because of her past you should hold that against her after 11 years, when she's clearly came such a long way.

i'm passionate about someone who is being treated so badly by the people around her and she can't even enjoy her basic rights.

i'm not going to respond to you anymore :ally:

I can't believe this is going on.  Again, I'm on a thread about Britney and her father. I wish her the best and hoping everything works out for her. She is a caring mother, a supportive sister and a loving girlfriend. I think people should remember that as they give their opinions.

God, I hope she's okay. People really are so evil. The fact that some of her family members are doing this to her is just so sad.

So this pretty much confirms what as fans knew all along. This is a huge step for Britney. It's time that all the corruption and lies come to light. There's a reason why Lynne is on Britney's side. They have taken years from her. She needs to be free from this. #freebritney #stopconservatorship #nomorelies

I just don't get it how you can treat your own daughter this way. She is your ****ing blood. Yet you abuse and use her for your own benefits. That is sick.

And don't event get me started on Lou Taylor. All I can say is, there is a special place in hell for people like her.

I am so proud of Britney for having this confidence to fight against these monsters. I know that this will probably hurt her chances of seeing her sons, but in the end she will win and her life can begin again. Love you Brit.
