I wasn't here at this time last year to commentate on the best and worst like I normally do, so I'm making up for lost time. Should've done this list last night but didn't have the time. Normally, I wouldn't make a list for men but as this was camp night, there was a great many more options to make men look fabulous. My top ten are as follows... Top 10 best dressed women Honorable mentions: Kacey Musgraves, Hayley Steinfeld, Donatella Versace, Ashley Graham, Lily Collins, Dua Lipa, Halsey (all looked gorgeous and/or somewhat camp) Spoiler 10. Lena Dunham & Jemima Kirke Not that the looks are actually doing anything for me but this is definitely camp by definition. But this is the one and only time Lena might appear on a Best Dressed list. 9. Lupita N'yongo Love the fans and the intricacy of the eye make up. Not overly keen on the dress but you can't deny she's gone all out. 8. Tracee Ellis Ross Simple but effective camp and she wears it with so much joy. 7. Cardi B Surprisingly not a lot of dresses like this which is usually standard Met fare, so Cardi really stood out and looks amazing, right down to the hand placements. 6. Cara Delevigne Super wacky and nonsensical but that's what camp's all about. And at least there's some LGBT flag representation which was surprisingly lacking elsewhere. 5. Janelle Monae One of the most textbook camp examples of the night and it was a great tocuh with the occasional blinking eye. 4. Katy Perry Very well designed and unexpected for her to do something so extreme but she pulls it off. 3. Zendaya Yeah, reminiscent of Clare Danes a few years back but with enough twists to make it its own thing and nice touch with the magician and his magic wand to accompany. 2. Gigi Hadid This was just extravagant opulence and I love it. Those eyelashes must have been sore to blink in, so props to her for going all out. 1. Lady Gaga As if there would be any hope of anyone else occupying the top spot. One of the very few who not only dressed camp but acted camp, she gets a YAS QUEEN from me. Top 5 best dressed men Honourable mentions: Harry Styles, Benedict Cumberbatch Spoiler 5. Darren Criss Simple camp for a male but much further than many went and I like the bow. 4. Jared Leto Out there in a whole different way and I love it. Not much to say as it's so weird. 3. Billy Porter An entrance and great posture make for the most theatrical man of the night. 2. Michael Urie Love how the male and female side switched places at the shoes. Really traditionally camp, this is what comes to mind when I think of the word. 1. Ezra Miller This makes my eyes go funny but when the look's this good, yes please. Camp personified. Top 10 worst dressed women Dishonourable mentions: Charli XCX, Nicki Minaj, Awkwafina, Penelope Cruz (none of them stayed on theme and just looked too boring) Spoiler 10. Jennifer Lopez Even when there's a theme, she still dresses the same way she always has. We've seen it! 9. Emily Ratajkowski Just an attention-seeker wanting to show off her body and I don't know why she keeps getting invited to events. Next. 8. Hailey Baldwin I guess looking simple but with a visible thong equals camp now? Would have looked hot at any other event but not for camp. 7. Miley Cyrus For Miley, this was a major disappointment. Where's her Bangerz/Dead Petz looks? Normal for a camp theme is far too un-Miley for words. 6. Mindy Kaling This is the wrong style for a fuller-figured woman and not camp into the bargain. 5. Karlie Kloss I don't even know what to say about this. Is this a model's idea of what camp is? 4. Serena Williams So many people like this but this colour burns my eyes above all else. I guess the mix of formal and casual is camp but something about it is just not doing it for me. 3. Chloe Grace Moretz All these young things who don't know what camp is seem to just use this event is a promo opportunity and more should be done to crack down on it. 2. Kris Jenner Was this camp but failing? Or Kris just being Kris? I just get the feeling she threw on whatever she had lying around. 1. Mary-Kate & Ashley They're still in the same boring outfits with the straggly hair, odd expressions and staring eyes about 15-20 years later. Why are they still being invited to fashion events? Top 5 worst dressed men Dishonorable mention: Joe Jonas Spoiler 5. Idris Elba Just a normal male formal dress. But if you're going to wear an elaborate waistcoat, at least make it co-ordinate with your date's outfit! 4. Richard Madden Tucking your trousers into your socks and adding a safety pin to your lapel makes you camp now. Got it. Did he just amend this outfit in the car on the way over? 3. Nick Jonas He could have tried harder to work more with her dress and added more colourful touches. If you're going to co-ordinate, go all out. 2. Frank Ocean Apparently he genuinely got mistaken for a security guard and I'm not surprised. Maybe he thought he was being ironically camp? 1. Kanye West Pretty much the same as Frank but at least Frank bothered with a tie. He's worn camper looks in non-camp themed years. Ironic or not even trying? Not to mention that same effect was achieved beautifully on Claire Danes a few years ago. That was a rough night for Hilfiger generally speaking.
