Ageism is the last acceptable prejudice and the only one, that ALL of us will suffer from eventually. Madonna back in the day would have charted with all of her singles from RH. Heck Ghosttown would have been no 1. I mean even Britney and Christina are seen as past it now..Heck Katy Perry is in Danger. Ageism is real and its very very sad. I’m worried about Gaga’s ability to get hits too as she carries on through her 30s. I feel like ageism has struck Nick Minaj too
BOMSHELL 2,708
Good for her. And y’all better sit quiet cause Gaga said the same thing when she got honored by billboard magazine a couple years back

I believe that there is the issue. After the 70s Cher stopped being ambitious with her releases. By the time of Believe, she had decided to re-invent her style. She did not try hard. She just let everything flow. That's what Madge should do now. And please with less auto-tune, she's better than that. I sit and press rewind

The thing is, people is quite tired of her music because she's lost that spark that made her unique. She tries acting as if she were in her 20s and it is annoying (some people have told me that). There is always going to be controversy regarding music, but let's face it, Madonna's music is not what it used to be. It is sad that some artists like her lose their originality trying to score another hit. I really love her, but Medellín is horrendous, and I Rise may have a good message but it sounds like a Rebel Heart outtake. Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the album is going to be. Regards. I just totally disagree. Medellin is leagues above most of what's on the radio, its exceptionally well mixed and interesting and new. Compare it to a song like Me or any Chainsmokers song and its clearly better to my ears. Another example several in here have mentioned is Ghosttown, a fantastic song. She is still making good music, u dont have to agree

However facts speak for themselves. Only die-hard fans are feeling that song. And it also depends on where you live. I just want Madonna to be on top again, but this song was not a step in the right direction. Maybe it would have been better without the guy. She is on top of her game, she may not be on top of the charts but most popular music today is lame. Music is subjective, but to me it's a great song with a glorious music video. Not a step in the right direction? What do you, the expert, think she should have done?

Of course I'm not an expert, but the songs she makes are for people to consume, as a person that cosumes, I have the right to say if I like it or not. And the song is not doing that good, most people did not feel it. Bless yourself because you did. The video is great, the song is not. It is the same type of song that is been on the radio in latin america for ten years. I grew tired of that. You have your opinion, I have mine, and there's nothing we can do about it. Well I wasn't saying that the current music she put out was good and could get her a hit I completely agree with you on this but with the right single she could get a hit just saying like people count her out cause she's old but like that doesn't mean she can't get a hit with the right sound, look, Promotion, etc... Obviously this ain't it. Not since MDNA. I'm the bitch that's fragile

I hope we get to witness that in the following years. I sit and press rewind
