I don’t think it will happen. She brought out freaking holograms for her performance and it hasn’t really improved her sales or streaming. Everyone ignored it and instead is talking about that TS Beyoncé mess.

Well actually Medellin has improved a lot more in the iTunes charts its currently 56 in the USA. It was something abysmal like 240. Overall the song worldwide is no 23. It had dropped to low 30's previously.

23+14

Madonna & Maluma - Medellin

This proves the power of a good or entertaining performance. Just how Gaga got exposure for a million reasons and shallow when radio were resistant. Madonna is in the unfortunate position of radio completely blanking her. Really, social media, concerts  and tv performances is all she has these days to get exposure to her work because radio have blacklisted her - especially in the US for nigh on 15 years now. If she had maybe one or two more performances, say an Ellen or Fallon appearance, it would give it a boost again. But the days of her actually cracking the top ten won't happen. Unless she did the superbowl again lol.Music consumption, demographics have simply changed too much.

eurovision will help her a lot on global charts (i wonder if she'll perform Medellin or a yet-to-be-announced 2nd single), but probably won't do anything in terms of the BB100--unless 60% of Europeans use US VPNS, that is...

53 on iTunes isn’t much at all. She climbed higher than that on release week and it ended up being like 5k sales. With this tiny boost she’ll be lucky to sell 1k in the upcoming week. Worldwide the song is only seeing decent success in Latin America but that’s not because of her it’s because of Maluma. On the hot 100 he’s pretty much done. Charting a few weeks somewhere in the 80s is gonna be the best she can get from now on.

Well that's the conundrum. Medellin is actually doing decent in certain European countries: namely Italy and spain. IT hasn't left the top ten in Italy since it's release. Even the UK has picked up. It's hovered around 33 for a few days now as the song has been A listed on Radio 2 which is a huge boost for her. The problem is, should she continue to push it or play a disco themed track which would be very Eurovision and tbh, what most people from that region want from Madonna. They want a Hung Up pt 2.I personally think she'll continue to push Medellin. It isn't in freefall yet and the BMA's certainly boosted it.

Yes but in 16 days it may be well past its prime (also is Maluma even allowed to perform with her, contractually?). Drowned Madonna is claiming Crave (feat. Swae Lee) is the official 2nd single. They report: "Crave is a very cool and eclectic dance track. Someway, Medellín is like a set-up for the big single. Crave is indeed even a stronger single than Medellín."

Spoiler

but then why even release Medellin as the lead????

Oh for sure he is helping her in those regions, but the song hasn't left Italy's top ten since launch and it's consistently done well in SPain. That's more Madonna than it is Medellin. Remember she basically ruled Europe around the time of Confessions where AMerica was very meh about it.But hot 100 yeh. Can't see her doing anything there unless there is some sort of payola deal.

Yeah true. I guess traditional release formats are dead and buried. You could well be right. Crave could be the next push with Eurovision and the video all launched in the same week to give the biggest front loaded impact.

Spain is probably because of Maluma too. He’s had recent hits there and they mainly speak Spanish so it makes more sense that he’s the driving force. It sounds like Italy is the only market she’s doing well in. Eurovision has the potential to change her success in Europe though. It’s really big there.

I personally LOVE ambitious artists and for Madonna to still be ambitious and craving success is inspiring. I wish she provided more quality but Madame X seems to be a nice step in terms of her putting in more effort with her music so I appreciate that.

She cares more about the hot 100 than Gaga does for SURE and I respect Madonna so much for that
