Emotional Machine is a career highlight

Unpopular opinion but the album version of You is better than the Troye Sivan reject sounding version you all are obsessed with 

Believe in Love is growing on me a lot, I think it could become one of my favs- I wish the chorus went a little bit harder though

STBS is also really good but I wish it was more acoustic, I think the beats kind of take away from the song a bit

Hm. I really don't want to be negative but everything feels flat. It feels like someone flattened everything down. I'm not a fan of her but I like her voice and lyrics (i like a handful of her previous songs a lot) and I don't think it was her. It feels like someone stopped her vision and made her even change some things vocally even after choosing the beats for her.

To her fans; what do you think of that? Could it be possible? Do you really like the album?

as you can see in this thread a lot of her fans, most of them are enjoying it.

Just listened to the entire thing and I agree. I dont think its lyrically on par with previous but it has more easier radio hits.

This album isn't better than her other stuff for sure but I do love it

It's got some amazing tracks on here  

About the stopping the vision thing, I don't see MARINA being a victim to that

Yeah but it's still early. I would be hyped if Gaga released something would need a little more time to rate. I know I'm asking early too but this thread will get more replies in the days coming.

Surely when Marina takes her album creation proccess only for herself it sounds different. This one sounds more modern and you can tell that another producer worked on that. Lyric-wise, Marina is always brilliant and have clever lyrics. I don't feel any downgrade in that. Lyrics are maybe more simple, but still good.

I’m listening to it and oh my GOD Marina has DELIVERED

Believe In Love- Gentle and beautiful. I love the chorus. The production is amazing. 

Life Is Strange- Loved it since the teaser. Her voice those high notes

You- I remember listening to the leak like a year ago because I thought she’d never release this oops. Hate to say it but I kind of preferred that demo. I still love it and I reckon it’ll be much better live. 

Karma- oh my GOD I think I love Karma. Me and my friend literally gasped at its excellence. The instrumental, the voice, the lyrics. Perfection.

Emotional Machine- Loved the live performance and it did grow on me a bit. The song hasn’t changed much but I still absolutely adore it, especially the “ignorance is bliss” part towards the end. The lyrics really resonate with me in this one.

Too Afraid- Of all the snippets she teased this was my least favourite. I like the chorus but it’s not the most memorable off the album. Her voice in the chorus is simply heavenly.

No More Suckers- Love it. I prefer the prechorus to the actual chorus, which sounds kind of sad. The lyrics are amazing “You eat all my food”. Classic Marina.

Soft To Be Strong- I can’t think of a better way to end FEAR. The lyrics are perfect. I like it a LOT more than I thought I would’ve. “I took a broken heart and made it beat”, that hit me. Marina is really something else. It’s slow and sweet and brilliant.

Overall, I simply adore it. Not sure it can beat Electra Heart as my favourite Marina album but it’s definitely above FROOT and probably The Family Jewels too. It IS simpler than previous albums (she said this in the livestream too), but I think that adds to the perfection of it all. Music doesn’t always have to be so deep and serious to good. Karma is the standout for me, and maybe Emotional Machine + Life Is Strange. I’m kind of disappointed that You changed but it’s still a cute bop. Thank you, goddess Marina for blessing us with this gift.

That's good! Glad you enjoy it.

I thought so too bc I've seen interviews but idk. I'm thinking about some years ago when she was quitting music. I was expecting her to really quit for many many years. So from my perspective it feels like some manager made her make this album when she wasn't just ready. I'm not saying it's a bad album it just feels like something very significant is missing out. I know she supposedly only wanted to erase "the Diamonds" from her artistic name but it feels like something more is erased. But then again I'm not a big fan so that's why I'm asking you guys. I wanted to like some of the songs. I think some of the hooks are good but idk maybe it's just the beats I find really boring and unoriginal.

Oh so she switched producer/s for this album? But same on Electra and Froot? Maybe that's why I'm finding it kinda boring/unoriginal. I'm really into beats which means lyrics and vocals come after to me.
