In English you say in on at?

In Spanish is so easy, it's always "en" :tony:

at a Starbucks (luego en; más como "en" en español, pero no siempre)
on a Starbucks (en la parte superior O en el costado del edificio)
in a Starbucks (en el interior del edificio)

That's complex. "En" IS used for those cases most of the times.

Anyway I'm on a Starbucks downloading a series episode to watch on the bus to home.

most of the time, at Starbucks, bus home. (home no usa esta preposición cuando se usa sólo; pero con my, your etc. entonces usarías 'to'.)

God why is English even more complex than I thought :laughga:

Here's a page from my semantics textbook showing how (at least in part) at and on are used and how they correspond to various adpositions in Dutch, Berber, and Spanish.

In my opinion at any rate all languages have a level of complexity that's essentially equivalent, but distributed differently between their features. Maybe some of them have a lot of sounds which are difficult for non-natives to articulate, maybe the way words are built is long and complex, maybe there are irregularities in how things are formed that are difficult for non-natives to grasp, etc.

Anyway, the charts. Yes. That.

well, true, I guess some languages have their difficulty in phonetics, while others in their structure for building sentences or their grammar or many other stuff.
