Notre Dame cathedral in Paris on fire

It's so sad to see a historic landmark burning down because things like these should be protected. I hope it can be saved.

Well the irony was that the fire was started due to renovation being done in the cathedral, which was due to a fire last month. :selena:

I hope no one gets hurt in this, and that the damage isn't too excessive. I love the landmark.

I'm an ARTPOP bitch, baby

It's horrific because this is a piece of architecture and history we'll never get back

open your mouth, say something warm I've spent a while, on the stranger's side of your door

OMG this is really horrible :ohno:

Such a beautiful and iconic place, one of my favorite spots to hang out with friends and admire the architecture from the Seine side

Oh no :omg: . This is how fast a "relic" of the past can vanish forever. I hope they can get the fire under control quickly :ohno:

An original mess since 1995

It seems like the fire on the back is slowing down, but it’s still going to the front... I think the roof behind the two towers will be destroyed in total. Not to speak about everything inside the cathedral.

oh no, I always visited it when I visited Paris, it's one of my favorite landmarks.

I have some kind of weird connection to the gargoyles there.

And there are so many details that it takes ages to really discover everything, it's really an amazing piece of art.

I'm not serious 99% of the times ;)

It's not being widely reported in mainstream media. There have been masses of people protesting for what seems like months now. They are labelled as "yellow vests".

Just googling "yellow vests" or "yellow jackets" brings up videos and images of how violent it's become.
