Why so limited to pop?

Its purely for familiarity and safety for Gaga fans I feel. With Gaga not releasing as much straight pop music in the past 6 years or so, Gaga fans are looking for something else to carry them over until she possibly releases a straight up pop record again. I.e. Ava Max has been latched onto quite a fair bit as she has a few alleged Gaga-esque qualities and to many fans is like a newer version of her. This relates heavily to the familiarity that so many fans look for. I feel that many Gaga fans in particular cry out for more pop-girls because they are filling the large mainstream pop gap Gaga has left.

I see too many fans crying out for LG6 to be a dance-pop record. I disagree. For almost 6 years of her career, Gaga's main genre was pop/dance with a few twists and turns to each record's overall sound. Had she continued this, she would be a one-trick pony with no real diversity which isnt what Gaga is about. Gaga is reinvention.

But with her releases since 2013, each album is different to the last both visually and sonically. She has done Jazz, Country-Folk-Pop and now a Piano Ballad/Country/Shallow-Pop soundtrack. But because these albums arent spewing constant dance-pop and because Gaga clearly isnt caring for chart success to release a current sound each time per say, fans arent happy and cry for nostalgia and familiarity as if that is all Gaga should be offering. For example, Ava was read to filth and beyond for "So am I" sounding like "Sweet but Psycho" mark 2, but those same fans cry for Gaga to stick to dance music. To me its quite selfish as Gaga is demonstrating diversity, versatility and ability to lend her vocals to almost all genres at this point to a degree (still waiting for her hard rock era) but too many fans just cant open their minds enough to realize how creative it is and allow themselves to venture into all the different sounds out there unless it has a chart number attached.

I want a more dance pop record because ARTPOP was not it. And when I say “dance-pop” I don’t mean Redone songs. I want her to explore more trance, more deep house, more hardstyle or maybe even ambient. There’s a lot of variability in dance and I think Gaga’s vocals would really shine in some of these genres.

To lump everything she did the first six years as being all exactly the same is pretty ignorant. Electronic music has dozens and dozens of different sounds and genres to choose from. It has far more breadth and depth than rock music and jazz, for example. It’s okay to make occasional detours from your personal brand, but to suggest a permanent departure from what made people love you is a foolish decision to make.

And you can still grow and evolve as an artist while still remaining within your signature style. David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, Elton John, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston managed to evolve within their signature styles, why does Gaga have to completely abandon hers? :selena: Classic Gaga was a very peculiar and unique artist. Ever since she left that behind no one has even cared to take her place and she’s left a void. I want her to go back to electronic music, and yes, I want her Avant-garde style back.

I feel exactly the same way.  I'm here for Gaga the person, and don't care about the genre.

I live outside the space time continuum.

I think when people say "We need more pop girls" they mean they want it to be like 2011 when there was a massive influx of electronic and bubblegum pop girls who consistently had top ten singles and these girls ruled the radio.

Now there are less of these girls (or girls in general) who seem to rule the charts, and hip-hop seems to have taken over pop radio.

Pop means popular. Whatever’s playing on the radio, other than pre-defined genres, is considered pop
