But the scenes are making a hint about Venus as the next single. I'm sure most of us got slayed when Lady Gaga as Pop Aphrodite appeared but sadly, they're just flashes and it's not enough. It makes me thirst for more. The MV ends with VenusGa and it seems intended that the next MV should be about Venus. Imagine scenes about Aphrodite in different perspectives. Like Lady Gaga in motion depicted from the cover art Or Lady Gaga dressed like Lauren Jauregui Imagine VenusGa posing and dancing in a koons ball and introducing the concept of the cover art for the album. Too bad they had flip flops in deciding which should be the next single. But to me, DWUW ruins the original vision for the era. The G.U.Y. trilogy was a different perspective of ARTPOP relying on greek/roman imagery. The tourbook felt more inspired in vaporwave and Rave culture But a video connection In between was needed. That’s one of my favorite things about ARTPOP though, is that it wasn’t about the commercial success, it was just for the fans. We would’ve had a beautiful video and she had all the concepts laid out etc. She was soo passionate about this song, and it’s kind of like the scheiße from ARTPOP. Let it flop and move to the third single. Its not like she was going to have a big hit after applause that era, she was already overexposed and the GP saw her as a mess. Applause was going to be her only hit off ARTPOP let’s be real. DWUW was a cute hit but it didn’t hit the top 10 after countless performances and high radio play. Ziggy 12,046 Posted April 7, 2019 Share Posted April 7, 2019 I actually don’t think she was hinting at Venus as a single so much as her work right around Applause promo inspired the song (Venus). That said, it would still be the most logical next step as that’s where her head and heart were at that moment. The performances were a bit rough, but it’s clear that she was there so had she not been doing dual promo with DWUW and Venus, I think the performances would have looked a bit more polished.
