Just listened to KILLTHISLOVE and Bsides and I’m not impressed oh my god, this is the first time I’m disappointed with blackpink. All the songs are literally fillers and forgettable. I’m just gonna continue listening to forever young lmao

it’s not even experimental. They used the same DDDD formula, tweaked it a bit and added different sounds.

it’s kinda making me mad. Teddy better let DDDD go and come up with something new.

I said "Bigbang/GD experimental song"   . This kind of song is literally harking back to One Of A Kind/Baddest Female YG genre where the song is not jammy enough and too beaty. Also, there are so many things you can consider when you think a song is "experimental", not just the "formula" (i'm guessing you're talking about the flow of the song?)

I personally am not mad at this. This is fast becoming "Blackpink's sound" and no other Korean girl group is doing this kind of sound right now. It's not new for them, but for an industry where Twice and whatever bubblegum disgusting pop easily reigns in the female arena, this is fresh. As hell. 

Also, what is "coming up with something new" when you already got to this sound? Like, go back to more commercially palatable pop song? Boombayah disgusts me. Whisper like Billie Eyelash?  Love her EP tho. Like where do they go from here?

Just ignore that boyband stan, hennies.    He thought he did something, but only thing he did was just turn us off of his Stray Kids and RV more. Very smart indeed

i never saw YG songs as experimental, to be honest. almost every song falls into that urban edm/hip-hop they’ve been doing ever since. 

“Whistle” and “As If It’s Your Last” –both amazing tracks but in many different ways. They just released DDDD a year ago. Are they already going with the same exact DDDD flow like what momoland is doing with their singles and just hope for the best? 2NE1 sold so many songs and they didn’t stick to one sound. Idk i feel like they deserve something better.

You have Mamamoo successfully coming back with another western-infused track. Everglow just debuted with a BP-like track, and Red Velvet’s unpredictable asses are out there coming up. There is so much room for variety now, so i don’t see it as justifiable tbh

As a BLACKJACK thru and thru, I can say that is simply not true.

Try To Follow Me and I Am The Best are still in the same veins.

But then again YG relies on Teddy for songs for all of their artists. Hence the known, "YGSounds", he can only do so much. At least until a group can be as big as BIGBANG who will then be given freedom to produce or co-produce their songs alongside Teddy.

Oh my God I'm not against girl groups. I'm against girl groups that don't bring their A game. If you don't wanna listen to stray kids or red velvet...okay. enjoy Blackpink. But I really love my main groups. Twice, red velvet, stray kids and shinee.

 but they weren’t released consecutively though. i mean sure a few singles down the line, but we’re just after the huge success of DDDD and the meteoric rise of BP.

It can't be helped. I feel like YG learned his mistakes when managing 2NE1, hence he took every chance he get to make BP not being mismanaged again.   So far, it is not  that great still, but they did secured opportunity to go global now. Just what I thought anyway.

Lol. I'm also not picking a fight (seriously girl, I swear)  but you equating Momoland's MESS to this is literally insulting  Do you really think Kill This Love sounds like DDDD? You are talking about flow being the same, which I understand, but that doesn't mean the two songs sound alike, like Boom Boom and Baam.   Huh???

Also, Momoland and Blackpink are playing in two vastly different arenas. Momoland was legitimately thinking they could continue their one hit wonderness so they made a Boom Boom carbon copy, but Blackpink is already established - ever since they debuted - and now they're trying to find their niche, and not "hoping for the best". "Hoping for the best"... it's so wrong. They already have the best. Again, they could have gone back to commercial pop idk, but they didn't and risked such a non-mainstream song. "Hoping for the best"... I don't get it. 

What genre is Mamamoo?  Whatever they feel like?  Okay (their voices are golden though). What genre is Red Velvet? Weird and unpredictable? Okay. I am a hardcore Blackjack girl. 2ne1 is a predominantly hip-hop/reggae fusion group, and their leads always sounded like that. They stuck to that. They didn't jump genres every comeback. They found a niche and because of that, you know what their sound is. That's why people think Boombayah is a 2NE1 reject! 

Kill This Love has already grown on me. I  could definitely see how people could dislike it, but it's not as bad as you're making it out to be. Equating them with Momoland, "hoping for the best", giving almost unrelated examples...  I don't know why I spent this much time on this but I had time. I want to apologize, but yuh, (Grande 2018)
