Can someone explain what's going on to this completely ignorant American?

Belgium is really diffcult to explain so let me start

We have 6 goverments (Federal,Flemish,Brussels,German,Walloon and French) and today we had elections for all of them + european elections

But we can't vote for all the goverments.

Me for exemple could vote for the federal election and the flemish one (dutch speaking part)

And in the Flemish (dutch speaking ,most wealthy and most populous part of belgium) the extreme right is winning hard 

They will become the second biggest party (20%) and thats a big problem because they are racist and and they want to spilt Belgium and make Flanders an independent republic. 

So we are probably going to break our own world record for most days without a goverment

this + to form a government you basically make "a deal" with other parties until you reach over 50%. so 3 parties with 20, 20 and 15 percent can form a government. However, this won't be possible this time as there are no likely combinations. The previous government could reach this minimum but they had a fight and dissolved the government some months ago due to migration policy. That's why we'll probably be without a government for a long time. 

It's also kinda scary how people voted massively for such a racist and misogynistic party. The frontrunner, Dries Van Langenhoven, has made statements that bodyshamed women for example. Another member once waived the Koran in parliament and stated that this was the source of all evil. We truly lost today

i remember when during the schild & vriend controversy when girls were campaigning and supporting him while they were making statements that women's only job was to stay pretty and skinny

the fact that that guy went to law school  he preaches everything our professors have been denouncing since year 1. His statements could even get him jail time. Too bad he can hide behind his parliamentary immunity now.

Belgium is one of the most complicated countries political wise. Most of us don't even understand it fully.

There’s one thing I never understood, Aryans are white people with blonde hair, blue eyes etc. but people who live in north India, (including me) are genetically referred to as Aryans as well. In all of our religious books it says that Aryans are our ancestors. But we’re people of color. How is it possible for both of these races to be the same?

you basically have a Dutch (Flemish) speaking part, a French speaking part and a German speaking part. Then you have the complexity that is Brussels, situated in the Flemish part but mostly French speaking. All of these have different governments and there's a federal government which is for Belgium as a whole. Then you have the issue of the cities around Brussels and where they belong. It's a mess really.
