latina twilight 2,319
I mean, as much as I would have loved to watch the original concept (being this or not) I'm happy with the performance we got. I love Bowie and I love Gaga, and I enjoyed it very much because I decided to enjoy and not to meltdown over things I can't change. Seriously such an underrated performance. For years there have been rumors about Bowie loathing Gaga. It kinda got confirmed by his son, who tweeted something shady after the tribute performance. I know that Gaga loves his art, but if it is true that he actually loathed her it was kinda disrespectful to do it in the first place. 1. Gaga's biggest idol in the world is Bowie 2. Bowie actually did not loathe Gaga, and they actually were in contact privately: "In her ballroom-size living room there is a grand piano and a giant modern pink blob sofa, and an even bigger pink rug. “I like pink,” she says. “It’s a relaxing color.” There’s her Golden Globe (for American Horror Story, in 2016) and a framed photograph of Patti Smith, along with pictures of Elton John and David Furnish’s boys, Zachary and Elijah, Gaga’s godchildren. Resting on the mantel is a framed letter from David Bowie ('Dear Lady, Unfortunately I will not be in NYC for a few months but many thanks for the cake')." https://www.vogue.com/article/lady-gaga-vogue-cover-october-2018-issue

The first projection was like pre-recorded or something, it didn’t even worked that well, she just had to move and the projection didn’t followed her as it should, it looked a bit off. Then... the moving piano? The lights at the end? Maybe the real tech they wanted to use wasn’t that well developed at that time.
monsterdino 31,991
I wonder if she shelved this concept/performance for the future maybe LG6?? I mean none of the things that they mentioned was shown with the Intel technology thus far

Nah I think they didn't have time to plan it well so they had to do everything in a rush including the concept for the tribute

I mean she had the idea for multiple Gagas back in 2013 for VMAs red carpet, but MTV did not allow her to do that...so she basically recycled that idea for this performance

I know that Gaga loves his art, but if it is true that he actually loathed her it was kinda disrespectful to do it in the first place. Well its because he didn't loathe her, I think the actual rumor is that he had a certain respect for her as a person while not necessarily being a huge fan of what she chose to do with her talent. Its the same kind of mindset Whitney had in respect to Gaga, she recognized the talent but didn't care for the peacocking. And as for Bowies son.....I mean hes about as rabid as Madonnas brother, he doesn't reflect his fathers opinions at all. Hes generally pretty hateful all around. And quite honestly, if Bowie in fact loathed Gaga theres no way the band would've allowed for such a tribute to take place. Its not like Gagas starpower in 2015 was so undeniable that it would trump bowies camps contempt for her. I think the only thing the band did not agree with was her choice to do a medley, they thought it better to focus on one track which is why they preferred Lordes tribute. Which spun in a tabloid manner could be interpreted badly, but in actuality its like....in real life you can have a certain respect for someone but not agree with everything they choose to do. you know what i mean? gaga is a divisive creature.
