Completely disagree. 100%. Theres nothing flat about any of these Fame Monster tracks especially Dance In the Dark which imo fits more in the realm of your vision of overproduction as its the same kind of "overproduced" as BTW is. Its that Garibay touch. Fusari on the other hand, maybe, maybe. Although imo Beautiful and Paparazzi are too perfect to bother nitpicking about.

Monster and So Happy I Could Die are definitely flat and one dimensional. Listen to the instrumentals right here:

What I mean by one dimensional is that the instrumental songwriting is extremely simplistic and unimpressive. They’re both very typical examples of Pop songs. The chord progressions, the arpeggios, the crescendos, the layering etc. are incredibly basic and dull. There’s just very little musicianship at all. It was all about the craftsmanship (creating a catchy pop song) and the main focus was the vocals at the expense of the musical integrity of the composition. Admittedly, I like the intro to Monster and the pre-chorus to SHICD for their atmosphere, but that’s totally subjective and I’m talking about music theory here. And what I mean by flat is the mixing. The songs lack power (unlike HML, Judas, Venus, Swine, BTW, and Aura) and the music’s volume is compromised for the sake of clear vocals. Heck, the YouTube versions are better than the MP3 ones. They sound especially lifeless on iTunes and they’ll only sound even worse on streaming services due to compression issues.

As for Dance in the Dark, the chorus does have that “overproduced” feel but I totally forgot how sparse the verses and the bridge are. The kick drum has okay density but that snare is so weak and muddy, it’s almost more like a Maraca with handclaps than a snare drum; that percussion in general just isn’t very loud and lacks richness. The reason why people like the song is because of the atmosphere and the ominous tone but the musical arrangement really isn’t that interesting and it isn’t completely effective as a dance song because it doesn’t have a powerful beat like Heavy Metal Lover or Scheibe does.

In regards to BDR and Pap, like with Monster and SHICD, their arrangements are very basic, only with the added flaw of being dated even for their time. They sound like 2006 songs. That’s when they were made. I obviously wasn’t thinking that back in 2009 as I was only 13 years old, but looking back with adults years and a far more educated mind it’s very clear to me now.

Still don't agree with you about SHICD. I personally find it to have an ambient quality. That being said, you're clearly one of those BTW/ARTPOP stans. I think your knowledge of music is great but despite me not being as well versed in "production" as you are I still have ears. While Born This Way and ARTPOP may be more....gaudy than The Fame Monster, they're not nearly as overall sophisticated even if its production is too simplistic for you. There was an art to the balancing act she achieved with The Fame Monster that managed to get her wants for eccentricity across with concepts and visuals while marrying the commercial with the music. Which is why its arguably her most successful era. As "basic" as some may think it to be lol Its not "reinventing the wheel" that makes that EP a masterpiece.

It could also be them using Gaga for promo. A lot of people have been doing that recently.

Yeah, not trying to be conspiracy/tin-foil-ish but sometimes fans jump the gun in assuming every single instagram post/comment relates to Gaga or means someone is involved with LG6.  A lot of the producers are friends, and it's possible he's just referencing his friend's involvement with LG6 but not his own.

I'm pretty sure Burns teased work with Britney before that never materialized...Of course he could have legitimately worked with Britney for a track that was scrapped, but...meh.

Honestly there are so many people working on LG6, it is becoming We Are The World in album form

Which is why I'm kind of hesitant to believe all the rumors unless she's scrapped a lot of tracks. It almost seems like too many producers, especially since Gaga also produces.

BloodPop and Boyz Noize are guaranteed. DJWS said she was going in another direction, but posted photos with her...but they could also just be friends. So he's likely, but not a for sure producer. Sophie seems like a 50/50 shot. Diplo seems like he might be involved. Burns..Burns has a history of trying to get attention.

BTW is my favorite album, but I agree it's overproduced. Nowhere near as bad as ARTPOP, tho. I know everyone loves Sophie on here, and while I'm always for more female producers...I feel like her production isn't great half the time.

I don't entirely buy every rumor about producers (a lot of them are friends, and might just be talking about their friend being involved and it's not a sign they are a part of LG6)...but rn it does seem like a lot. BloodPop, Diplo, Anthony R. and Boys Noize are all solid imo and I hope it's just them and Gaga.

I feel like half of the LM are convinced for some reason this is going to be hard EDM/industrial techno, tho, and are going to be greatly disappointed because none of the producers, with the exception of Boys Noize, really give that vibe at all.

Lowkey this. The longer it takes the more worried I'm getting for it to already sound outdated and overproduced by the time it finally sees the light. We all know Gaga is known for tweaking good parts from demos to ... well less good parts :huntyga:

And that's why Mark Robson is there to probably tone it down and give the album a classic flair. A lot of people here don't want him on the album because his sound is "old school"... but he probably would be the one who saves the album from over production.

I love all that she did with Mark Ronson, I think many don't like him just because Joanne the album is like it is, but that was the concept of the album. You can see his work in NBLaH and in Silk City, it's awesome. I  think that he will do wonders if he is in LG6 too.

In love with chaos depressed by fate.

True. They think that country is all he could do when he's actually a DJ :fail:

I think I found the best representation on how this album will be.    Go to Instagram go to @grimes she’s blood pops best friend and she also makes music.   Scroll down to her 6th.  And 7th. Post they were “shot and vibes by elirussel”.  Same pics as lady Gaga and the sound has every aspect of all the producers lady Gaga is working with and a lot of sounds from her old music,

if you want to continue digging through the archives I recommend checking out blood pops Instagram, the times they were posted and the timeline of emojis, I’ve ruled out that a pop song was produced by blood pop and boysnoize but it later got binned.  Sorry for ranting but if your bored of the zero updates this might do something for you ig ..
